Bakugou speaks up after the laughter dies down,
"So Shinso, Monoma, we don't know if they love you. Ojiro clearly loves you like a brother, Kirishima, Mina, me and Sero just confirmed we love you. Aizawa and Present Mic care about you, Im not sure they love you but they do care significantly. Eri is a child and loves most people, especially you. And, what is your relationship with your parents Denki?"
It was straightforward and surprising.
Denki stays silent for a while, when he finally speaks, what he says causes Bakusquad to go stiff.
"I will say if you swear on your life you won't report it to Mr Aizawa."
Everyone remains quiet as it dawns on Denki how bad that must sound. It takes 10 minutes for them to silently agree.
"W-Well, my mother passed away 7 years ago, then my father remarried. My stepmother is a big pro hero. She is DETERMINED that I become the best. And..."
The silence is deathening, Sero's voice trembles as he talks,
"W-what do they do i-if you fail or do badly?..."
More silence, then one word made all their hearts drop.
"Violence."
No one knows how to respond, they promised not to tell, Bakugou asked what everyone was thinking but we're too scared to ask,
"To what level."
"Worse than any of my training or villain attack injuries."
He looks ill, Denki has had some of the worst training injuries in the school. Bakugou continues even though it's obvious he doesn't really want to hear much more,
"What was your worst punishment."
He thinks about this for a long time before eventually responding.
"Locked outside for the holidays after being electrocuted and burned. For having 78% attendance in middle school".
They stay silent.
"Denki, that's abuse, and neglect." Mina says gently. "We need to tell someone, you need help."
"NO! You can't!" The fear is obvious but it's coated in anger. "YOU PROMISED!"
They all look at eachother, they don't know what to do. After what felt like an eternity Bakugou spoke.
"This conversation will continue at a later date. For now you should go back to your room okay?"
"Fine." He says, fear and anger merge into one with that one word.
