The nerve of that fucking man.

Screw waiting for two more weeks, I'm leaving this hell hole now.

I yanked the suitcase from the top of my closet and threw it on top of my bed. I emptied my chest of drawers and filled my suitcase to the brim. I grabbed a few clothes from my closet and finished it off.

I hear the front door open and close. "Lei-Lei! Mommy's home!"

"In here," I call. I grab my makeup bag from the restroom, slide it into my suitcase's top, and zip the small top portion. Aolani walks in and plops down on my bed. Her eyes darted towards my suitcase.

"What's with the luggage? I thought you were staying for a couple more weeks."

I don't meet her eyes. I grabbed another tiny suitcase and filled it with my shoes. "Santiago came to visit me." I glare at her. "Apparently he found out that I was going back to Hawaii. He thought I was moving permanently, even though I don't know how that concerns him."

Aolani gives me a guilty look. "I might've told Nathan when he surprised me this morning."

I raised my eyebrows. "Nathan surprised you here?" I motion to the living room. "Weren't you consummating in every single corner of this apartment? How did you not get caught?"

"He did that secret knock he does just in case you're home and we wanted to..." I held up my hand to stop her. "I got it."

"Evander was in the shower thankfully, so I went out to brunch with him," Aolani says.

I zip up my suitcase. "When I first met Evander, he introduced himself as your boyfriend. And I know Nathan is crazy about you. Not to mention other guys I know you have on that little roster of yours. When are you going to get serious about any of them?"

Aolani rolls her eyes and smiles. "My roster has been cut down and ignored. Evander is just a bouncer at the club where I work. We're relieving each other of stress and enjoying pleasure. Nathan...he's Nathan. He's always there. He's dependable. I know he won't go anywhere, so I never have to worry."

I sigh and scratch the back of my head. "Yeah, but...how long have you guys been hooking up?"

"Two months after I moved here." Jesus.

"You've been living here for a year, Aolani. Having sex with a person for a year could to some serious feelings and I think Nathan has those feelings," I said.

Aolani rolls her eyes. "You don't know Nathan. You don't even work under his branch. You don't know his feelings or lack thereof." She sighs. "I'll talk to him. See where his head is at. Because if you're right...then I need to end this. Because I don't feel the same way he does."
