Tami's POV
Rushing to the washroom, I locked the door and smiled at the thought that maybe, he cared for me, at least.
I thought of getting ready before he was up so that there were no more awkward moments. Taking a quick shower, I came out wearing a beautiful suit that my Mom had bought for me. I got ready, wearing basic jewelry, bindi, bangles, and light make-up.
He was still sleeping so I went downstairs to greet Uncle and Aunty... Oh, I mean my new set of mom and dad.
I saw them having tea near the lawn, I went there and greeted them. Their faces lit up looking at me. Uncle asked me to sit.
" Have tea, beta. " Mom asked.
" I don't drink tea, Mom. " I shook my head and said.
" Tell me about your hobbies, preferences, etc," she asked me and I told her about my passions and hobbies.
" Great!! So you are going to join the hospital? " Dad asked.
" Ji, with your permission. " I asked politely.
" Of course, beta, that's so sweet of you, but you don't need to take our permission. You studied so hard, would you like to waste it if by chance your in-laws don't allow you to work? No, beta, it's your work, your talent, and your chance to create your name, fame, and success story. Go grab your chance and rock the world. " She said and I hugged her.
" Please, do consider us your mom and dad, so please don't hesitate to ask for anything you want. " Uncle said and I nodded with a smile.
"Thank you, uncle! "
" Uncle?? " He made a face as if he ate something bitter.
" Sorry, Dad!! " I said and
" Yes, it's good now. I can tease your Dad that his daughter will call me Dad now. He is over Possessive about his daughters. " He laughed.
" Look who is talking... Ask Ron, he almost killed Ron out of his jealousy. Poor boy!! " Mom said. I smiled.
" Leave all that, you just said that you love to cook different cuisines and experiment with them?? " He asked, I nodded.
" Great! So now you are going to try as many dishes as you want and I would love to eat them. " He said with a broad smile.
" But Dad, it seems that you didn't hear my next line. I am going to be a dietician very soon, so being your daughter, I will take care of your diet as well. " Mom laughed out loud, dad made a face.
" This is not fair. I was so thrilled about the new dishes. But you are already taking your mom's side. " He said making a face.
" Well, if you follow your diet I will make a new dish for you every day. " I said and he grinned like a child and nodded.
" Great! Tell me what you want to eat, and I will make it for you. " I asked him.
" No, not today, you can do it in a few days. You just got married and you still have mehandi on your hands. As it is, Manik has gone back to Surat, and Mahi and Ron are back at Kapoor mansion. So it is just four of us at home. We will invite all of them for that ritual. Today you will come to our showrooms and then we will go shopping. " She said and I got serious all of a sudden.
" Mom, Dad, you said that I can ask for whatever I want. " I said.
" Yes, of course, it's your right, tell me what you want. " Dad said.
" In that case, please I don't want you to get anything for me. I already have more than enough. I don't want anything that can be bought, it is a request. Please... I would not be able to use it. " I said and even though I tried, my eyes got moist.
" Tami, what happened, beta? Why are you saying like that? Did that idiot son of mine say anything to you? " Uncle asked. I shook my head immediately.
" No, he didn't say anything to me, please... "
" He definitely said something, tell me or I will throw him out of the house immediately. " Dad said getting up.
" Uncle, no, please! " I held his hand with both of mine.
