Tami's POV

" If you hate to see my face so much, why do you want to wait for 9 months? Divorce me right away, and you will get rid of me, but since you can't do it because of your selfish reasons, I suggest that you behave yourself with me, as I will not compromise on my self-respect. "

" You will have to bear my behavior, don't expect me to be nice to you,  as you just said that you don't expect anything from me. " He replied.

" I don't expect you to behave like a perfect husband with me, but I am under no obligation to take your rude behavior. I got married because of many reasons, but my only selfish reason was that I liked you. Thanks to you, my crush has jumped out of the window. So if I am still staying in this marriage, it is beneficial only for you. So behave well if you don't want me to tell everything to our parents. "  I said with an eyebrow raised and went to the washroom.

When I came out of the washroom, he was not there, I combed my hair and downstairs to join the others.

They all were sitting there to have the evening tea, as soon as I joined them, a helper came with a hot cup of tea, but I declined it politely. Mom asked me to have some snacks.

As we embarked on our sightseeing adventure the next day, excitement pulsed through me, mingled with a tinge of apprehension. The vibrant sights should have been a canvas for newfound connection, but instead, I found myself wandering amidst the throngs of people feeling strangely isolated as if I were exploring the world alone. Despite Mihir's physical presence, there was an emotional chasm between us that seemed insurmountable.

The next day, I didn't want to go anywhere with him so I said that I was too tired to go sightseeing.

Dad's unexpected invitation to visit the office and showroom brought a glimmer of anticipation. As we arrived, the air buzzed with anticipation, and I was taken aback by the warm reception from the office and factory workers. Dad's gesture of arranging a feast to celebrate our wedding filled me with gratitude, yet amidst the festivities, I couldn't shake the feeling of disconnect. Mihir stood by my side, a silent companion amidst the jubilant celebrations, but his aloofness only served to deepen the sense of loneliness that lingered within me.

They all gave us their blessings and finally, we came back.

That evening We were invited by Mom's family and we went there for dinner. We really enjoyed their love, blessings, and hospitality.

*****
Back in Delhi, the days stretched on with a monotonous rhythm, punctuated by Mihir's increasingly erratic behavior.

Mom's distant relatives had a wedding in the family so they had invited them. Mom and Dad had to go to Ahmadabad to attend the wedding for five days.

I was not happy about being alone with Mihir but I could not do anything about it.

With Mom and Dad's departure to attend a family wedding, I found myself thrust into a world of uncertainty, tethered to Mihir's unpredictable presence. Despite their earnest pleas for his attentive care, his actions spoke louder than words, as he consistently arrived home late, leaving me to navigate the vast expanse of loneliness that enveloped our home.

He had not talked to me even once since Mom and Dad went to Ahmadabad.  He didn't even give me a look since that day. He was not even sharing his room with me, he had occupied the guest room.

In a desperate bid to bridge the growing chasm between us, I poured my heart into every meal, preparing his favorite dishes in the hopes of eliciting even a flicker of recognition. I adorned myself in outfits that garnered admiration, yet they seemed to go unnoticed by his indifferent gaze. Despite my best efforts, his silence remained unyielding, leaving me to grapple with the suffocating silence that permeated our shared space.

With each passing day, the weight of isolation grew heavier, a burden I struggled to bear alone. In my attempts to maintain a façade of normalcy, I sought solace in fleeting moments of connection with family, masking the growing rift beneath a veneer of forced smiles and empty pleasantries. I could not go and meet them every day or they would have guessed that things were not normal between us.

Yet amidst the darkness, a glimmer of hope emerged with Mom and Dad's return. Their comforting presence breathed life into our stale home, offering a brief respite from the suffocating silence that had come to define our marriage.

I felt good as now I had someone to talk to so I prepared Mom and Dad's favorite dishes for lunch and we had just finished our lunch when Sri and Sagarika called me to come and meet them. I refused as mom and dad had come only a few hours back but she urged me to go out with them. Finally, I went out with them and had a good time.

A simple invitation from friends beckoned me to step beyond the confines of solitude, igniting a spark of joy amidst the monotony that had become my reality.

It was getting on my nerves to spend all the time at home but I had finished my education and had to wait for the results to start the internship. I was waiting for my result to come which was to be declared in a day or two.
