Tami's POV

Within five minutes, Chachu, Chachi, and Sri were in the room. They all looked happy, their faces glowing with joy. Siddh, my brother, was in the OPD at that time, so he came as soon as he could. He looked happy too, but there was a hint of apprehension in his eyes.

"How are you feeling, Tami? Are you happy?" he asked gently. I nodded, though my mind was still reeling from the news. Just then, Mihir’s parents entered, their faces beaming with joy. They hugged me tightly and showered me with blessings. They were so excited talking about the coming child.

"I think we should let her rest for now. She was saying earlier that she was very tired," Dad suggested, and everyone left after hugging me, leaving only Sri with me.

Sri sat down beside me and took my hand. "I was transferred to the gynecology department all of a sudden," she said, trying to make small talk.

I nodded absentmindedly, still trying to process everything. Suddenly, Mihir rushed into the room, still wearing his scrubs. His face was a mixture of concern and confusion.

"How are you feeling now? What happened?" he asked, holding my hand tightly.

"Relax, Jiju! Congratulations! You’re going to be a dad very soon," Sri said a wide smile on her face.

"WHAT? What did you just say?" Mihir’s voice was filled with shock.

"She’s pregnant. Well, now that you’re here, I’ll leave both of you alone to celebrate this good news. Bye, take care," Sri said, leaving the room. Mihir stood there, utterly shocked.

"Mihir?" I called softly, trying to get his attention.

"Tami? What is all this?" he asked, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"What?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest.

"How can you be pregnant?" He asked.

"What do you mean?"

"How can you get pregnant when we haven't even been intimate until now?" His words hit me like a physical blow.

"WHAT?" I asked, tears welling up in my eyes.

"You know how things are between us... We never... consummated our marriage. How can you be pregnant?" he demanded, his voice rising.

"Mihir, don't you remember anything?" I asked, my voice breaking.

He looked at me, utterly confused and a bit angry. My heart sank. He didn’t remember.

"Mihir, that night at the farmhouse... you were drunk. You pulled me to your room, and... we made love. I didn’t stop you because I love you. I’ve always loved you. But you don’t remember any of it, do you?" I said, my voice trembling.

His face was a mix of shock. "No, I don’t. I don’t remember anything about that night."

" What do I say... Now. All I can hope is that you recall everything, please try to think about it, you will recall it. "

" I don't know... Are you sure we... I mean did we...? I don't remember anything... Are you sure that you and I... We haven't even met in the last 15 days. " He was saying but I was shocked to hear him saying it as I even heard what he didn't say.

Tears filled my eyes as I continued. "You got angry all of a sudden and then you kissed me and kept on... I couldn't stop you as I love you... but then you called out my sister's name before you fell asleep. You were making love to me, but in your mind, you were with her." I said and burst into tears.

Mihir looked horrified. "Tami, I... I don’t know what to say. I was upset to see them happy with each other as I had loved her all my life... But I am not in love with her anymore. "

" It didn't seem to be the case, the way you behaved. Anyway...Do you even want this child, Mihir? Or am I just a reminder of someone you lost?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

He was silent. The weight of his silence crushed me.

" I can't believe that I did something like that keeping her in mind as I don't feel that way for her anymore. I was planning to move on with you in our life. But this... Tami, is there a chance that like the way, you sleep and talk, and you don't recall anything later on, maybe you slept...and something happened... which you don't remember, maybe Parshav took advantage..."

" Stop it!! Not another word. Just the way you can claim proudly that you never looked at another girl other than my sister, I can claim that I never looked at any other man but you in that way. But you never forgot her. You even called her name after making passionate love to me. So don't you dare to say all that? If you doubt me, I can easily prove it with a DNA test, but let me tell you Dr Shah that you just lost your chance to have any claim over this baby now. Please leave. " I burst into tears for the first time like this, he was shocked by my reaction.

" Tami, please calm down!! " He came closer and said. I held out my hand to stop him from coming nearer.

" You want me to calm down after what you just said? I accepted getting married to you even though you threatened that I would never be happy after this. But I still got married to you, because I love you. You even sent me divorce papers and still, I could not stop loving you. But... " My voice broke and tears choked my throat.

" But... you killed the girl who once loved you. Congratulations, Mr Shah!! You won this challenge. I accept the defeat. I will finally stop trying... As it is not worth trying... How would you have felt if Gaurvi had blamed you for committing infidelity?? I am feeling exactly like that. Please leave, though I don't need to prove anything to you, you will get the DNA report by the middle of the third month as the test may be harmful to the fetus before that." I said.

" Tami, don't do that. I don't want any report. I just said that I don't remember the night. "
