After their conversation with Princess Charlotte, Gero and Erika now had their work mostly cut out for them. This new foe was not one to be taken lightly, if the Princess were to be believed.

However, soon the tournament would be hosting the coin-flipping ceremony in around an hour or two, so there was no time to head back to the Hakugei at this moment.

The coin-flipping ceremony was going to be held in the semisphere, the team captains of both teams would attend in person to find out where the next and final match of the tournament would take place, depending on if the coin landed on heads or tails.

What was unnerving was that both team captains would be seeing each other in person, meaning this was the opportunity for first impressions.

Only problem was that these first impressions were not exactly ones of cordial greeting and good sportsmanship. Carm certainly did not that on his mind.

[ U.S. Semisphere Base HQ ]

[ Carm's POV ]

"You don't even want to give them a handshake? Isn't this acting against the General Beckmann's objective of maintaining good foreign relations?" Donald Fragg, One of Carm's most loyal lieutenants asked.

"I am very well aware of that, but the JNST is bloated with corruption and the heads of prominent cults, sticking their noses in everything they do, they hardly represent their country and are made up almost exclusively of those picked by the Nishizumi, Shimada, and Yamato cults and the like." Carm started from behind his paper-ridden desk

"I know that sir, but the general public doesn't seem to, to them those Nishizumi's might as well be any other kid, seeing Yankees acting like asses to them would probably not give the public the best perception of us." Lieutenant Fragg said

"Oh they know who Gero is, they know who Erika is, believe me, they are well aware of every last one of their team members and where they come from.

Nishizumis are spoiled sick with an endless stream of wealth, their parents abuse the offspring starting in their early childhood to become perfectly loyal servants to the family name.

Tankery used to be all female in Japan until a couple years ago, so Gero Nishizumi was ditched by his own parents early on to get them out of their hair by leaving him with a man named Matsumoto until they deemed him to be useful to the family again." Carm said

"..."

"...what the hell?..."

"Same thing with Miho Nishizumi, she decided to save a girl's life from being killed in a waterlogged tank during the final match of the 62nd national sensha-do tournament. In return for saving a life she was disowned by her parents and left to rot alone at the tender age of sixteen." Carm said

The lieutenant had a blank-eyed expression plastered on his face.

"Draconian ain't it?" Carm said

The lieutenant nodded.

"What's even funnier is that Miho decided to join the family again after the 63rd national tournament ended. Miho accepted returning to the family, even after she had been told to never show her face there again...
