Oh, Primrose,
You courageous little primrose.
You bring me such joy.
Your petals are few, yet they influence many.
You bloom in innocence,
With light blues, valiant reds, soft purples or striking yellows.
You laugh as you sway in the breeze,
And tell of brighter days to come
Even when there is darkness ahead.
Hopelessness cannot break you,
You courageous little primrose.
Your beauty untouched, unwanted, without envy;
Who could despise you?
But even you,
You courageous little primrose,
Must fall out of season,
And leave me aching.
