I eat poetry.
I chew, I savor, and I sometimes even choke.
I’ve made it a habit of mine.
To be quite honest, it’s addicting.
How delicious are the texts,
The phrases, the fonts;
They frolic about ‘til they exit my lips,
And waltz away with my heart.
The big words are my favorite,
They roll off my tongue in a bumpy fashion
As the vowels and consonants rendezvous
And dance all around.
The rhymes make me giddy,
When profound, they leave me breathless…
And I cannot do anything but
Eat, eat, eat.
I devour every stanza,
Every line, every word, every vowel
Like it’s my last.
They grant all my wishes
And I cannot do anything
But eat, eat, eat.
A/N: Hello Wattpad! In late October my creative writing class read this poem titled "Eating Poetry" and I found it to be very inspirational and highly amusing, so I decided to write my own vesion of the piece. Here it is :)
