Swimming In Shadows

It seems the time has come again

For daylight to depart,

To rest its rays of sun and shine

And leave us weak at heart.

But have you thought of what night is,

The treasures that it holds?

For as our Sun is like a god

The Moon is night-time's gold.

To walk at dusk is simply just

A swim in shadows black;

Though submerged into the dark of night

Quite anything could attack.

Is it this fear of things unknown

Which scares us to the bone?

But why, if even darkness has

The Moon upon her throne?

Do not fear such things that lie

Short whiles in the dark,

For what may seem a sea of shadows

Is day's walk in the park.

A/N: This poem is dedicated to Thundersun for being one of my first friends here on Wattpad, and for all of the wonderful commentary he's left on my work. I can always count on him to give his opinion on things, and above all, he has great talent. :D
