Lilith quickly dives into the water. She begins swimming as quickly as possible to one of the strips of land. She finally reaches one and pulls herself out of the water and onto it.

She wastes no time in sprinting down the strip towards the cornucopia. Her now wet suit sticks to her skin. Her lungs aren't used to the hot, thick air, making it difficult to breathe.

Lilith ignores the screaming of her lungs and continues running. She hears running behind her and sees Gloss on the same strip as her and getting closer. Lilith urges her legs to move faster as she sees more tributes getting closer to the cornucopia.

Lilith finally reaches the center of the cornucopia and frantically looks for her swords. She spots them and quickly puts the sheath on her back. She pulls the swords out, a sharp ring filling her ears. A smile tugs on her lips at the familiarity of the sound. She's back.

She looks around, seeing and hearing fighting. Lilith gets shoved to the ground, she looks up and sees Gloss standing over her. He raises his weapon in the air, preparing to pound Lilith's face in. She rolls to the side just in time.

Lilith jumps to her feet and swings her swords, blocking Gloss's blows. She sees that his feet aren't steady, he's just messily flailing around. She pushes him back, closer and closer to the edge. Then, she forcefully kicks Gloss in his chest, knocking him back into the water.

She jumps to her feet and runs around the cornucopia, looks for Silas.

"Lilith!"

Finnick's voice makes her turn her head around.

"Over here! Peeta needs help," Finnick says, taking a second to look at Lilith before running to where Mags and Katniss stand.

Lilith rushes over to where Finnick runs to. Finnick dives into the water, going to Peeta's rescue. Katniss has her bow ready and aimed at the water. Lilith hopes Katniss doesn't mistake Finnick for the enemy and shoot him.

A canon booms. Lilith's grip on her swords tightens. Please don't be him.

Just then, Finnick and Peeta reach the surface. Lilith lets out a sigh of relief. She crouches down as Finnick gets closer to the strip of land. She extends her hand out and helps him out of the water.

"We can't stay here. It's too open," Lilith says when both Peeta and Finnick are out of the water.

Lilith looks at the center of the cornucopia, seeing that old habits die hard. The District One tributes sticking together. A few tributes have been taken in by the careers, the others have already made their way into the jungle.

They all decide to make their way into a section of the jungle. They run deeper and deeper into the jungle. They also get farther and farther from the only obvious water source.

"Okay, hold up," Finnick calls from the back of the group. He makes sure Mags is okay and she gets off of his back.

Everyone stops and crouches down. Lilith pants from the running. The thick air making it nearly impossible to catch her breath. Now that she has a moment to rest, Lilith wonders where Silas is. Could he have gotten caught in the bloodbath? She hopes not.

"God, it's hot," Peeta comments, panting as well. Beads of sweat begin to appear on his face. "We gotta find fresh water."

"Agreed," Lilith says desperately.

Suddenly, three cannons boom. Lilith's head perks up. She realizes any of those cannons could be for Silas. She hopes he's just with Johanna or Beetee.

"I guess we're not holding hands anymore," Finnick remarks with a chuckle.

Lilith snorts at his words. She thinks it's remarkable that Finnick can joke at a time like this.

"You think that's funny?" Katniss says, distaste in her voice.

"I thought it was pretty funny," Lilith mumbles under her breath.

Katniss snaps her head towards Lilith, narrowing her eyes slightly. Lilith shrugs her shoulders and looks around.

"Every time that cannon goes off, it's music to my ears. I don't care about any of them," Finnick says.

Lilith really only cares about one.

"Good to hear," Katniss says, pulling a machete out from her sheath of arrows.

"Wanna face the Career Pack alone? What would Haymitch say?" Finnick comments.

"Shouldn't she be with the Careers?" Katniss sneers at Lilith.

"She could kill your ass if she wanted to," Lilith sneers right back.

If it wasn't for the big plan to protect Katniss, Lilith would've already slit her throat.

"Let's keep moving," Peeta says after a moment, breaking the tension.

Everyone keeps moving in silence. Lilith holds Finnick's trident so he can carry Mags. Peeta clears the way with the machete.

The terrain begins to go uphill. Lilith groans internally.

"Peeta no!" Katniss suddenly screams. But, it's too late. Peeta already took a swing in front of him, and hit the force field.

Sparks fly around and Peeta gets launched backwards, knocking everyone down in the process.

"Peeta? Peeta?" Katniss mumbles and hovers over him. She grabs his face. "He's not breathing. He's not breathing! Peeta!"

Finnick shoves Katniss out of the way. She aggressively grabs her bow and begins to draw an arrow. Lilith shoves her back, knocking the bow out of her hand.

"He's saving him," Lilith tells Katniss.

Katniss realizes what's happening and crouches down by Peeta again. She begins to sob over Peeta's body.

Lilith watches the Girl on Fire's reaction to all of this. Maybe their relationship isn't all fake..

Just as Lilith begins wondering if Peeta is really gone, he gasps out and begins breathing again. Everyone lets out a sigh of relief. If Peeta didn't make it, Katniss wouldn't see a point in making it out of here.
