A flood of questions rushed through Daisuke's mind, but there was no time for deliberation—let alone celebration.

The Composure stat kept his focus locked on the battle, preventing even a moment of distraction. With a clear plan in mind, he muttered, "Stat Reset." To his astonishment, not only were his regular stats reset, but even the normally untouchable Special Stats had reverted as well.

"Any last words?" Ranger scoffed, his weapons glinting in the ambient light as he raised them.

Tuning out the man's theatrics, Daisuke cast another glance at the shinobi's Status Window. There, he observed a confident sacrifice of Stamina, evidently made under the assumption that he could swiftly overwhelm his enemies with explosive speed and agility—traits likely enhanced by the Shadow Step skill.

Daisuke didn't need to deliberate for too long, though it took considerable mental effort to redistribute his stats to his desired ratio solely through calculation. Yet, with his life hanging in the balance, he swiftly and efficiently completed the task.

Ranger clicked his tongue in irritation, his gaze clouded with bitterness. It irked him to be ignored, especially by quarry who usually would have already begun pleading for their lives.

But he didn't have the time to indulge himself with torture, not when his forces were decimated and his puppet was violated to death by a beast. Right now it was imperative that he promptly found himself a fitting replacement.

"Pity I didn't figure out who you're affiliated with," Ranger muttered with disdain, his bicep flexing as he tightened his grip around his weapon. "But I want you to die knowing that they will all be following right behind you soon enough."

Before his sickle could carve a lethal trajectory, Daisuke disappeared. Ranger glanced down in alarm at the small wound that split open beneath his right eye, similar to the one he had inflicted on his prey.

"...The next one will be in your back," Daisuke said in a chilling tone. "I'm a very vengeful guy; I'm sure you can understand."

A muscle worked in Ranger's jaw. His malevolent gaze shifted from Daisuke's eyes to his shadow, but before he could use it to his advantage, his target once again disappeared.
