Apparently, violence was the answer.

After the ruthless fight between Nadia and Valentina, her followers had skyrocketed. The girl debated deleting social media because she wasn't used to getting so much attention. She'd participated in countless tournaments, but the Sekai Taikai was genuinely being streamed everywhere.

It was even on YouTube, as brutal as it was. Nadia wasn't one to toot her own horn, but it seemed her one-liner after beating Val in the brawl was a much loved line.

That was the only part of the fight she was proud of. She could never watch anything before that.

It was funny—seeing people she knew in Atlanta claiming her name as if they weren't the same ones who abandoned her after the accident. She didn't blame them for that, but she did not appreciate them using her name for fame now that it mattered.

Nadia had already gained popularity in the Valley since her win at the All Valley tournament, but this was something entirely different. Getting worldwide traction brought publicity, and some of it wasn't good.

For example, people really wanted to tournament to continue. Despite someone literally dying from it, a fight between Nadia and Zara was something that was anticipated. Either that or Nadia versus Tory.

The Nichols girl had Zara down for a solid minute during the live brawl, leaving people to believe that whoever would've faced Nadia could've been either of them. Regardless, the media wanted the tournament to come back.

Nadia didn't know whether or not she agreed. Daniel was right—fighting with anger only leads to chaos. Kwon died. With the tournament over, her father couldn't get the publicity he was trying to in order to spread his violent agenda. However, it would've been nice to beat him, Wolf, and Silver once and for all.

Not to mention the fact that she had nothing for Stanford. "Almost World Champion" wasn't exactly an achievement. Maybe writing the fact that she got over her rivalry with Valentina would do some good. Still, Nadia decided not to even attempt that route, seeing as she'd have to write about the fact that she snapped someone's leg. It now seemed minor compared to what she'd seen at the Sekai Taikai, but the girl wasn't willing to take any chances.

The next best acceptance to Nadia was USC, which was good, but Stanford was still her top choice. She had already written her continued interest letter, which came somewhat easier since she had closed one part of her past. Nadia just wasn't sure if it would be enough.

"Nadia?" the voice of her therapist snapped her back to reality. "Everything okay?"

As promised, she was getting therapy after the tournament. Nadia didn't really want to do it, but with all the unresolved baggage, it seemed to be the only plausible thing. Especially now that Miyagi-Do had been put on pause for the sake of the kids figuring out their futures and reeling from the events.
