Someone has died again.
The news has painted a picture in black, white, and red.
We count tragedies in the number of bodies
And the cost for repairs.
These are the stories in our heads.
Discrimination, exclusion, disagreements, hate.

What else can this world take?

I sit and contemplate these things,
The concept of peace has filtered down to a dream.
I am but one person in a world of many.
How far can my wishes reach?

Nonetheless I wish to say,
That I long to see the day
when peace holds true reign.

"I love you - such powerful words and so expansive.
I accept you regardless of our differences because our differences are components of our identities.
I understand you because everyone needs to know that they're not alone.
I forgive you - kingly words, less often said."

For know I'll do what I can,
Lead by example,
Offer my head.
Give a stranger a smile,
Tell an employee hello,
Laugh with others,
And allow the earth to grow.
