Zipwire

So a while ago I wrote a silly little script as practice for class that I never did anything with.

But it's Convex and it's funny so get 250 words of silly convex.

[lights come up on a stage with a balcony, and a wire running across the ceiling. CF is stood on the balcony, clearly looking for something]

SG: [offstage] Wheeeeeeee!

[SG appears from the top left on a zipwire, swinging all the way to the middle of the stage. CF follows their movement, before the zipwire stops suddenly, center stage. CF frowns]

CF: [checking the zipwire]: hm

SG: [trying to turn to face them] what do you mean 'hm?' We can't have a broken zipwire at the fair!

CF: hm

SG: is something wrong? Is it broken?

CF: No, no.

SG: oh, phew

CF: But I do need to make some emergency repairs... Just hang in there.

[CF grabs a ladder from the side of the balcony and moves it until it's just to the left of the zipwire. He climbs the ladder, inspecting the zipwire, humming obliviously. SG is left hanging there in terrified silence before there's a loud snap]

CF: ah

SG: [looks up at CF] ... 'ah'? What does 'ah' mean?!

CF: ah

SG: [grabbing the wire above him] What's happening, Cub?!

CF: We have lost safety wire number 1. And safety wire two is looking rather unsafe. Hold on a bit longer.

[CF starts tinkering with the zipwire. Again, SG is left hanging there. Until there's a another snap and he jolts downwards

CF: Fuck

SG: Fuck?!

[The wire snaps. SG falls. CF just watches his descent until there's a comical smashing sound where he would've landed]

SG: OW!

CF: [looks up at the audience] fuck.
