Chapter 50: The Next Part of the Journey

Naruto could only watch as his best friend, turned sister, turned girlfriend, had walked off, leaving him for dead, and he was heartbroken that the love of his life had let the enemy mess with her head. Then, Naruto finally passed out from exhaustion. Fifteen minutes later, Rin had finally arrived with a small recovery team, as she had a small platoon with her. Still, her shinobi had broken off, a few shinobis at a time, as the ones who had broken off from the group were taking back the wounded to Konoha, while Rin was left with three shinobi to find him, and Rin was heartbroken herself that they all failed to save Ino. Rin gently picked up her little brother, who was now resting in her arms, and his head resting against Rin's left shoulder, and then Rin had just turned around, but stopped when she heard Naruto talking in his sleep. "Ino... I'll save you..." Naruto muttered as Rin's eyes started shedding tears, as she turned her head towards the path where Ino walked away from, gently gripping her fingers into Naruto's side and leg, but not deep enough for his body to bleed. "And I'll save you, too, Little Sister," Rin whispered to herself as she turned around and walked back to her squad with Naruto, making sure he would be treated once they got back to the village. One of Rin's shinobi spoke up once Rin had walked past them and was walking with her. "This is going to be a lot of paperwork for Lady Hokage," The shinobi said as Rin nodded softly to the question. Then, Rin slightly looked over her right shoulder, her eyes were puffy and red, and tears continued to stream. "Rabbit, once we get back, tell everyone who took part in my squad to take a week off. I'll be seeing my Grandmother," Rin said as Rabbit, the one who spoke a  few seconds ago, nodded in agreement to Rin's orders. Half an hour later, Rin and her remaining team had returned to the village, and Rin went straight to the hospital, while Rabbit used Shunshine to teleport to inform Tsunade that they had returned, while the rest of Rin's team went on their way. Once at the hospital, Rin stood in the hallway on the second floor, as she saw her family and the Sand Siblings, either standing or sitting in the hallway, as they were not that hurt, but patched up, and they were waiting for updates about Naruto and Ino. Then, Sakura, who was leaning on Temari's shoulder, spotted Rin with Naruto. She slowly got back up as her leg was banged up, her back was slightly sore from her back being slammed against a tree, and she was using the walls of the hallway for support, and then her family and the Sand Siblings noticed this, and followed her gaze until they all saw Rin with Naruto. Then, Temari got up, with her right arm being supported by a sling, and only several scars held together by stitches, helped Sakura go over to Rin.

Sakura and Temari stopped in front of Rin, and Sakura cupped Naruto's cheek. She was shocked to see her brother like this, and was scared that she might have lost him. Tears started streaming down her face as she turned her gaze up at Rin. "What happened?" Sakura asked as she felt that she had almost lost her brother, after seeing the state that Naruto was in. Rin wasn't sure what to say, but she was more than happy to see her brother and sister safe for now. "I don't know what happened, but he was like this when I found him, but we can't stay in the hallway," Rin said as Sakura nodded, and then Ryoko spoke up. "We all got a room for ourselves, even Naruto has a bed for himself ready," Ryoko explained as Rin nodded, and then Temari placed her hand on Rin's back, and gently pushed her to start walking towards the room, followed by everyone else. Once everyone had entered their room, they were met by Tsunade, Konan, Karura, and Shizune, who were waiting for them to come into the room. Then suddenly, a lot of Shizune's Shadow Clones all appeared from the sides of the room, came over to the group, and took each one to a bed, and made them all to lay on the bed, and got them all checked and tested out, while Hanabi and Kuro were giggling a lot, and trying not to laugh too much from the scene before them. Then, with everything having finally settled down, Tsunade came over to Temari's bed, with her arms crossed, and a slight, angry and worried expression showing on her face as Temari was being more patched up by Shizune's clones, and she looked up at Tsunade. After a few minutes of silence between them, everyone was looking over at Tsunade and Temari, and Tsunade finally spoke up. "Temari... I am disappointed that your team didn't bring back my Granddaughter, but I am proud of you that no one in your team has died... But I hereby promote you to Jonin," Tsunade started as Temari was shocked by this, and wasn't sure what to say, and then Tsunade turned to everyone else. "You all still have to prove to me if you can get promoted, but until then... I can not make that choice until we all move," Tsunade said as this was also an announcement to her family, as everyone, except for Konan and Shizune, were shocked by this. Then, Ryoko spoke up. "Wait... Do you mean we're moving our clan? To a new village?" Ryoko asked as she tried to remain calm and not raise her voice. Tsunade looked at Ryoko and nodded in response to her question. Suddenly, Asami spoke up. "Grandmother, I want us to move as soon as possible. I honestly hate it here! Most of the boys here wouldn't leave me alone when they learn who is my family," Asami said as she felt lighter than before.
