i can tell by your eyes,
and the way you say your words,
how you avoid her,
and whisper your secrets to me instead.
silly old me,
just the one who you're fond of,
like a pet off the street,
a stray that follows you.
but now you seek me,
rather than me seeking you,
pleading with me,
telling me the truth.
i can tell now,
that you and her aren't together,
at least not anymore,
or at least not in the same way as before.
i can tell now,
that this is what i've been wishing for,
but when i see your tears and forced laughs,
i kind of wish she would come back.
