"Danny, where are we going?"
I chuckle, stumbling along as he tugs relentlessly at my hand enclasped in his, and treads ahead of me on the pile of rocks massly expanded below our feet; along the length of which a brook flows silently yet magnificently.
I really don't remember how long we've been walking--sprinting, actually.
"You'll see." He says, looking over his shoulder with a grin. Those ordinary words that I've heard countless times over the years only to be wowed later on, reek of a hidden promise now.
Smiling, I rivet my eyes only on the back of his head and try to guess what was going to happen, and let the world around me blur into insignificance.
Almost instantly, the blood starts to pound against my ear-drums and fills every nook and cranny of my body, arising it.
I'm excited for reasons I do not even know yet!
But I think that clueless-ness can bring out the best kind of excitement there is; in wait.
And I cannot wait.
Clenching my teeth, I bumble on ahead, inching closer to him with every step.
And when I get close enough, Danny spins around abruptly, pulling me against him and earning a gasp from me in the process.
His teeth sparkle in the dark as he grins down at me, even standing against the sun.
"We're here."
His lips barely move when he talks, but I wouldn't know even if they did. My eyes were riveted into his.
Danny smiles like he knows and moves away, letting the sun face me now. I blink from the sudden contrast, and when I regain my sight, I take in the view before me.
We are standing on the edge of the rocks; which like a pedestal oversee the horizon, with the sun and his reflection in the brook flanking it.
"Pretty." I comment, and Danny wraps his arms around my front.
"Pretty lonely."
He whispers in my ear, his warm breath at that sensitive spot making me unco-ordinated for a beat. I then make sense of his words and look around us, and sure enough, we are all alone.
"I thought we could use a little privacy."
He whispers again, and his grip around me tightens, as he presses his lips to my neck. That one spot feels warmer.
My mouth pops open and a purr leaves it, with it taking every breath of air in me.
Danny spins me around like I weigh nothing, leaving our overtime-working noses only inches apart.
"What are you waiting for?"
He whispers, and I smile, before reaching up on my toes to meet his lips eagerly.
The touch renders everything else trivial; including that little voice in the back of my head screaming that I was forgetting something vital. I choose to ignore that realization too, and focus entirely on my connection to him.
There is a certain urgency to the kiss; almost like he wants to express too much in too little time. That, or he's really stirred up. I tuck a small smile in between his lips, thinking to myself that I couldn't possibly blame him for this.
I reach my hands up to steady his face, but also try to match his intensity.
Danny responds acutely, sliding his hands across the skin of my back and slowly making his way to the front.
