Dylan's POV:
As I sat outside the school clinic, I couldn't go with Alex inside for some stupid reason and I just sat out here. It's been about thirty minutes since I've been out here. I bowed my head down, hands cupped together as they rested on my thighs.
I was fighting back tears that tried to escape my eyes, but one tear managed to always escape every time I blinked. It hurt so much to where I couldn't do this. The days Mason were gone felt like heaven. I manged to get him out of my thoughts temporally, but now they're starting to appear slowly back into my mind. I can't believe he did that to Alex. What possibly could he have done like that to tick Mason off? I tried to ask Alex while walking to the clinic, but all he did was shake his head, and mumble, "Don't worry about it." His voice was low and deep with rage and frustration.
My mind just kept replaying what happened.
Earlier:
Walking up the stairs to meet Alex halfway to my second period, I had my head down looking at the appreciation letter I got from Mr. Baker. I was really excited because it's been a while since I got one of these letters, and it made me feel the urge to actually give a damn about this school.
A smile shinning on my face , it was soon interrupted by an "object" bumping into me causing me to step back a little. I rose my head from the letter and saw Mason turning his head to look at me. A little happy feeling popped up inside me; I was happy to see him. I saw then how he suddenly stiffened when his eyes landed on mine. I mentally chuckled at how cute he looked.
Taking my eyes if Mason for a quick second to see if Alex was waiting for me, I saw the most shocking and unbelievable thing. My eyes widened in horror as I saw Alex on the floor near his locker surrounded by many people just starring at him not even asking for help. I swear people now a days don't even give a shit about you anymore.
His face was strained due to some sort of head pain and was extremely red that it shined through his perfect skin as you could see way from down the hallway where I stood. My instincts of a friend in need kicked in and I bolted towards him.
When I got where the crowd was, I couldn't see him anymore because people were blocking my view. I then started shoving people out of my way and yelling, "Move!"
People slowly made a way for me to get in. When cleared, I quickly went to him and bent down resting my hands on his shoulders trying to pick him up, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." he mumbled then winced in pain as he tightened the grip on his head.
"Lets get you to the clinic." Finally managing to get him up I looked at him one more time and then at the crowd. I gave everyone glares that said, 'move your ass' and automatically they moved. Slowly, but surely we were making our way down the hallway.
'Wait, where did Mason go?' I thought. I then forgot about it because he probably had better stuff to do.
Present:
The door slowly cracked open causing me to jump a little raising my head to see if it was Alex. I jumped out my seat instantly realizing it was him. He came out looking a little better, not holding his head anymore. I sighed in relief and walked towards him, "Everything okay?" I gave a soft smile trying to lighten the mood and make him feel better that a friend was here.
