You said when the storm came
That you would be there with your umbrella to block the rain

Laney POV

I sat in my cell looking in the dull mirror across from me.

I wonder is Christian okay. Or what about his sister Lori, or my sister Jory. What about my parents. I know they saw my ass on the news.

"Laney." I looked at detective Holmes standing at my cell. It was late and everyone was sleep.

"What you want?" I frowned. He stuck the key in the hole and slid my cell open.

"Ready to start paying me back?" He tugged at his belt.

"Bag the fuck up." I said with a straight face. He came towards me and ran his disgusting fingers through my hair.

"Move!" I slapped his hand away. I miss Christian!

Christian POV

I miss Laney! I just need to know that she's okay right now. Just show me a sign that's she's alive.

I stood in the phone booth hesitant about calling any of my people. They wouldn't understand where I'm coming from no way.

I got love for Laney Cole, and they gone have to deal with it.

I dialed the only number I knew by hard and let it ring.

"Hello?" Her perky voice spoke. Her background was quiet and I knew she was alone. She was probably in her room studying or something.

"Lori.." I said for what seemed to be five minutes.

"Who is this?" She asked confused.

"Your twin." I said. There was a long silence over the phone. The only thing that I could hear was her breathing through the phone.

"Talk to me Lori." I begged.

"You gave mom a nervous break down. You made dad want to disown you. You-"

"But what did I make you do?" I cut her off.

Once again the phone got quiet. She probably just as mad at me as they are.

"I was worried about you, Christian. I stayed up crying every night! Then I saw you were on the run with that... That... That fugitive!" She snapped.

I dropped my head in disappointment. I've lost so much because of this girl. Maybe have to change my name and look too!

"But I love her." Was all that could come out my mouth. Lori laughed out loudly. I don't know why but she made me feel real stupid.

"Who would have thought Mya Johnson would be this big criminal / sex symbol." This time her laugh seemed humorless.

"What's funny? This shit ain't no joke Lori. We've shot at cops! Bitch we killed cops!" I snapped. She instantly stopped laughing. I knew that would shit her ass up.

"Always think shit a game! I'm trying to let Yall know I'm okay and you laughing! Laney and I are split up in Louisiana! This shit is so far from funny to me!" I yelled.

"Tell ma and da I called.." I said calmly before hanging up.

I threw the money bag over my shoulder and began walking, watching my surroundings.

Laney POV

I walked into the shower butt naked with my towel across my shoulder. I noticed that a few women were staring at me like I was lunch.

"You ain't that tough in here." I heard one girl say.

"Yea we prey on lil bitches like you." Another one said.

I ran my hands through my hair to feel if I still had that shank hiding in it.

I didn't say a word. I turned my shower on and let it wet my body up. They began forming a circle around me and at that moment I knew I was gone have to kill me a bitch.

I stopped showering and turned to look at them all. I took the shank from my hair and gripped it in my hands.

"If you ready to lose your life you in the right place." I said calmly. They slowly went back to their showers.

"I'll catch you another time." This big girl promised
