She hadn't left my mind since I saw her on the beach earlier that day and I couldn't help but notice her perfectly formed fringe and how her eyes glowed from the sun and gosh, her smile just amazed me and with the click of someones finger, I was back to reality. "Zack, hello? Someone needs help with their math homework and fast because it's due tomorrow."
I turned my gaze towards my best friend, Grayson Mitchell, who stared at me blankly. "What?"
"Question three," he began to tap his pencil on the math homework that was given out on Friday, "what's the answer?"
"Now, that wouldn't help you at all if I just gave it to you." I smirked as I knew he was going to throw something at me very soon.
"Zack! It's due tomorrow. Just give me your damn sheet and I'll copy."
I sighed, giving up already. "Fine." I handed him my homework and he started copying as I stared out the window, overlooking the street.
Gray and I had been friends since we were in kindergarten and luckily we had been going to the same school ever since. He lived a few blocks away and he was the party type as I followed along, I preferred to not go after every girl I see unlike Gray, who was a player to most girls but because of a reason.
"What's up with you today? You've been daydreaming a lot." He chuckled to himself.
"Shut up, Gray," I growled, "I haven't. Just finish your homework."
Before Gray was about to answer, my little brother, Matt came barging in with his water gun he got for his birthday last week.
I glared at him, knowing what he was about to do. "Don't. You. Dare."
Matt looked me straight in the eyes as Gray couldn't care less. All he cared about was finishing his homework he left to the last minute, probably because he was partying all weekend. Matt held up the water gun that was dripping onto the carpet and his finger was on the trigger. "I'm bored, Zack." He complained as I sat up from my bed and placed my phone in my pocket to protect it from any water going onto it because I knew how this conversation would end.
Matt flung his curly blond hair away from his face and continued to aim the gun at us. "If you shoot that thing, I'll tell mom."
Threatening him with mom always seemed to worked since he was ten years old and he was scared of getting into trouble. "Mom's at work," Matt said, "so there is nothing you can do."
"What do you want?" I rolled my eyes, folding my arms across my chest.
"Your laptop." He said, lowering his water gun. That was easy.
I walked over to my desk and retrieved my apple mac laptop and handed it to him and taking the water gun from him. "Now, go away. We're doing homework."
Matt walked away as I closed my bedroom door. "Done!" Gray yelled, "thanks, man."
I rolled my eyes. "Honestly, what would you do without me?"

Walking down the crowded school halls with hundreds of students crowding past me, I came to think of Penelope again. She said she was going to this school and I hoped to see her again, if that was even possible. I had been looking out for her all day but there was no sign of her.
Gray came up to me with his new girlfriend, Alex. "So, wanna hang out after school?" Gray asked, flinging his arm over Alex.
"Nah, I can't. I have to pick my brother up from school since my parents wont be home." I sighed, feeling annoyed at being the babysitter.
