Once I had finished writing my letter to Zack, I placed it gently in an envelope. I probably wouldn't see him today as Maddie and Austin wanted to do something fun with me.

"Well, there's a carnival happening today." I said as we all sat around the dining room table eating breakfast while dad was at work. "Oh, and you guys will have to entertain each other. I'm working tomorrow."

"That's cool," Maddie said, "a carnival it is."

"I'm heading for a shower," Austin cut in and kissed Maddie on the cheek. He ran up the stairs, leaving Maddie and I alone for once.

"So, you and Zack?" She cut to the chase, making me smile as I had been wanting to talk about him for a while now.

"Yes, me and Zack. We're dating." I said.

Maddie screamed with excitement. "Oh my god! You finally have a boyfriend!" She winked at me, making my mouth hang open.

"Yes, finally," I said in a sarcastic tone as I roll my eyes. "But anyways, he's nothing what I expected."

Maddie giggled. "Well, that's what you get for trying something new. It's not what you expected and that's the best part about it. Will Zack be at the carnival?"

I shrugged. "I don't know but get this, his mother was my therapist!"

"No way!" Maddie screamed in shock, "what a small world."

"Right?" I said, "don't you think it'll be awkward? She knows everything about me. Not even Sean's mom knew that much about me."

"Just act like she hasn't been your therapist, she's just your boyfriends mother that you have to try and impress." Maddie said with a small smile, making me realize that she was right.

"Come on!" Maddie took my hand, "let's get ready for this carnival."

"Geez, Miami is better than Texas." Austin said just as Maddie hit him in the stomach, making me chuckle.

"Don't say that," Maddie whined, "that means you'll move here and leave me."

Austin wrapped his arm around Maddie and pulled her in. "I'll never leave you."

I smiled at their moment. "How cute! But I really want some cotton candy right now."

We walked over to the stand and we all got some cotton candy to eat while we walked around. People were gathered at different stands, playing games and grabbing food. I love carnivals! People were so happy here.

A second after grabbing some cotton candy, a pair of hands wrapped around my waist and swung me around. I screamed, scared for my life.

"Surprise!" A familiar voice yelled in my ears. He put me to the ground and turned me around, we were face to face and staring into each other's eyes. I playfully hit him on the chest with a cheeky smile and a small giggle. "You scared me."

He kissed me on the lips and wrapped his arms around my body. "I thought I might surprise you."

"You did a damn good job, I thought you couldn't make it." I said, taking his hand and moving out of the way from all the people wanting to get cotton candy.

I took a bite and offered him some, he happily took a huge bite. I almost forgot that Maddie and Austin were here.

"Sorry to cut in on your day out." He turned to Maddie and Austin who shrugged it off.

"No worries, we were gonna hit the rides anyway." Maddie dragged Austin away and they disappeared around the corner.

"So, want me to win you a huge teddy bear?" Zack said with a smirk.
