"Right, you fill up the coffee pot if it gets low." Mel told me as she placed the coffee jug down and smiled while looking at the customers that filled the place, making me smile. "You're all set, there are you first set of customers." She pointed to the males at the end booth.
She handed me a small notepad and pen and smiled. I took them and walked over to the end booth where I got prepared to talk to these unknown people. "Hello, my name is Penelope. What can I get ya?"
I looked down at my notepad and heard that same annoying voice and I mentally slapped myself in the face. "Hey, Penelope. We'll get two milkshakes. Mel knows our usual."
I nodded and whispered, "coming right up."
Are they going to be here every time I worked? God was punishing me, I was sure of it. For Texas? I didn't know but I was not happy with seeing Zack here with his little friend that kept staring at me like I had committed a crime.
What did I ever do to him? I hadn't even officially met him.
"Hey, Mel. What are the two boys at the end of the booths usual's?" I asked, getting the blender ready.
"Banana for Gray and Strawberry for Zack," she smiled, "Zack says he knows you so I'm assuming you know them."
I chuckled to myself knowing it was not exactly true. "Yeah, you can say that."
I got the milkshakes prepared, taking other peoples orders who sat at the stools. Once the milkshakes were ready to be delivered to their table I rolled my eyes and took it to them. "Enjoy."
"Hey, wait." Zack called just before I turned around to head back to the counter.
"I have customers, Zack." I said bluntly, turning around and never looking back, but I could feel both of their eyes staring into my back as I worked which was annoying because I couldn't concentrate.
This was going to be a long afternoon.

After my shift, I headed to my car. It was six o'clock and I was starving and right now, I was craving one of dad's homemade pizzas that left me wanting more every time. I grabbed my keys and there were only two cars in the parking lot.
I located mine and unlocked it by the key, I also noticed a figure standing by the other car that was across from mine. I stared at him and he stared back at me as I rolled my eyes. "Don't you get the hint that I don't want to see you?"
He chuckled, crossing his arms and leaning against his car. "That wouldn't be fun, would it?"
I rolled my eyes again and headed towards my car but, I heard footsteps approaching me as I opened my door and placed my bag in the passenger seat. "Why do you annoy me so much? Is there something about me that you like to make fun of? Is this is a game between you and your friends? Guess what Zack, I don't want to play!"
He was taken aback by my comment but I could see the smile appear on his smug face. "That's not true, Penelope. The moment I saw you, I knew I had to get to know you."
I really wanted to slap myself for ever talking to this guy. "Well, I would rather let my bag sink to the bottom of the ocean than let you ever get to know me." I got in the car and started the engine. "Idiot." I muttered to myself as I drove away.

When will that boy give me a break? This had never happened to me before, not even with Sean. If he wanted to ask me out then he should just ask me out even though I knew what the answer would be.
A big fat no.
I was not looking for a relationship nor was I ready for one and if he thought that he had got a chance with me, he was wrong.
