Sayumi's pov

I was training in one of the hideouts (in Amegakure), when I got a message from Konan telling me to meet her in the highest tower.

I got ready and met up with her, only to hear one of the Legendary Sannin was infriltating Ame. "What do I need to do?" I asked.

I watched the fight between Jiraya and all of Pein's paths and Konan. Man, I wish I had popcorn... I thought.

Eventually, when Jiraya was weakened, he wanted me to finish him. I didn't question it, I just went along with it. Just when the old frog poofed away, I appeared before Jiraya.

"Do you want to die fast or slow?" I asked. "It's your decision.

"Sayumi... am I right?" Jiraya questioned.

"Yes, that's me." I stated.

"Sayomi... I noticed... a strange
.. mark and... removed it... when I... had the chance..." Jiraya managed to say.

"What kind of mark?" I asked. "Were you able to identify it?"

"Yes... it locked away... some of her... memories..."

"Why should I believe you?" I asked. "How do I know wether you aren't just trying to save your skin?"

"You know... Sayomi deeply cares for you... and acknowledges you as a kunoichi... I don't mind dying by your hands..."

I thought about it for a while. Should I keep him alive, help him recover? Maybe he could tell me more... He did find my weak spot...

"I'll spare you if you tell me more." I said. "I'll just have to fake your death." I'll feel bad for betraying Konan nee-san and Pein nii-san, but the more information I'll get, the better...

I made a clone and let it remain there. If Konan and Pein would come, my clone would say I threw his body in the water while I brought him to a place I was sure no one would come, Sora-ku.

I was greeted by Denka and Hana, who were happy to see me. Itachi had taken me here once before and I got to meet Granny Cat as well.

"Sayumi-chan~" Granny Cat spoke. "What brings you here? And who's that man?"

"This man is Jiraya, one of the Legendary Sannin, I need to make sure he survives." I replied.

Denka and Hana took him to another room and I was left alone with Granny Cat. "Sayumi-chan, Itachi has left a message here for you." she said.

"What is it?" I asked.

Granny Cat handed me a scroll. My eyes widened when I read it. I need to stop him! I thought. "I'll be back soon." I said before I poofed back to Ame, quickly reported to Konan and Pein and started searching for Itachi right away.

I eventually found Kisame, along with three others, a boy with white hair, a girl with red hair wearing glasses and a boy with orange hair. "Kisame nii, where's Itachi nii?"

"I'm afraid I can't tell you, Sayumi." Kisame replied calmly.

"Why are you looking for him anyway?" the girl asked.

"I know what he's planning, but I'm not planning on letting him die!" I replied. "Now, where is he?!"

Kisame didn't reply and I ran off, deciding to look for him myself. I went into sensory mode and noticed multiple people nearby. One of them was Tobi, while the others were all Leaf ninja.

"Ah! Sayumi-chan~!" Tobi exclaimed.

I appeared next to him and went straight to the point.

"Tobi, where's Itachi?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "Tobi doesn't know, why are you looking for him?"

Before I could leave, someone said something. "Oi! You were the one who tried to kill Kakashi-sensei, right?!"

I turned around and noticed it was dogboy who said it. "So what if I am?" I asked.

"If we can't capture Itachi or Sasuke, we'll capture her!" the blonde Jinchuuriki exclaimed, pointing at me.

I chuckled. "I see you're really desperate about bringing back this 'Sasuke', I don't think he'll be someone to capture so easily. From what I've heard of him, I don't think he even cares about you."

"Sayumi's right! He's te reason Deidara-senpai is dead after all!" Tobi said.

"Deidara nii, dead?" I asked. "Tell me everything in the hideout." I was sad, but I held back my tears, I wasn't going to show weakness like that.

"Sayumi, please come to the Leaf with us." Sayomi suddenly said. "I don't want to be enemies anymore."

"I can't." I replied before turning around.

Suddenly, Zetsu appeared out of nowhere. "He's dead, Itachi Uchiha is dead! Sasuke killed him." he said.

My eyes widened and I felt like I could break down crying any moment. Still, I managed to hold back the tears. "I'll kill him." I stated bluntly. "If he isn't dead yet, I'll break all of his bones and kill him."

"Hey! Aloe vera! Where is he?!" the blonde exclaimed, but Zetsu didn't reply.

"Zetsu, Sayumi, let's go." Tobi said, but his voice sounded way lower than usual. He sounded more serious as well.

Sayomi's pov

I noticed Sayumi was sad and trying hard to hold back tears. Just what was he to you? I thought.

The last thing I saw from the masked man was his red Sharingan eye before he disappeard along with Sayumi and that plant guy.

We had found the place where Itachi and Sasuke fought, but we came too late. "Damnit, I failed to bring him back again!" Naruto exclaimed.

"It isn't your fault Naruto." I said. "We all failed."
