Third person pov

Tobi had just come back from Amegakure to get Nagato's Rinnegan. He had killed Konan in the progress. In the hideout, he saw Kabuto with his snake-like appearance. "What are you doing here?" he demanded to know.

"I'm offering you manpower." he said before making the correct handsigns for the Edo Tensei. He summoned Itachi, Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu, Nagato and Sayumi. "What's in it for me?" Tobi asked.

"I can bolster your fighting power, with these six. All of them are quite powerful, don't you think?" Kabuto said. "These aren't the only ones I have though."

"Wat do you want in return?" Tobi asked him.

"Sasuke Uchiha." Kabuto replied.

"What are you trying to accomplish?" Tobi asked.

"Nothing in particular, I just want to learn the pure, unaltered truth about ninjutsu." Kabuto answered his question.

"What if I say no?" Tobi said, but Kabuto threatened to reveal who he wasn't by summoning him as well. "I'll accept." he said, but he was questioning his motives.

Sayomi was walking through the village, walking home from a mission. Suddenly, someone stood in front of her. She stopped and examined the man. There's something not right here... she thought.

The man said he was going to escort her somewhere people were waiting for her. Sayomi didn't trust him at all, so she stayed cautious while following him. She wouldn't hesitate to knock him unconcious and interrogate him if he would start acting even more suspicious.

The man took her to a BBQ restaurant and soon left. She looked around; there was absolutely no one aside from herself, the waiters, the cook and the other staff. "Sayomi? This way." a male waiter said, leading her to a large table with lots of meat.

Suddenly, she heard someone. "Sayomi-chan! There you are!"

She turned around and noticed a big group of people. All of the Konoha 12 (she's one of them, right?) and Keiichi.

They had dinner and there was a lot of chatting and laughing. Sayomi had fun for the first time since Sayumi had died. "Why did you do this for me?" she asked them.

"We hate to see you so depressed, Sayomi!" Chouji said.

"Chouji's right!" Ino exclaimed. "Right, Shikamaru?"

Shikamaru nodded. "You didn't think we'd abandon you, did you?"

Sayomi smiled. "Thank you guys." she said. "This was just what I needed. Whose idea was it?"

"It was my idea, dattebayo!" Naruto exclaimed. "I wanted to cheer you up, Sayomi-chan!"

"That's right!" Kiba exclaimed.

"That's so nice of you, guys." Sayomi said. "I really appreciate it."

Outside

Chiyoko was walking outside with Ibiki and when they passed the BBQ restaurant, they heard laughing, recognizing Sayomi's laugh as well. "Seems like they managed to cheer her up, don't it?" Chiyoko said with a light smile.

"Yes it does." Ibiki said, a hint of a smile on his face.

"Let's go, they'll be fine." Chiyoko said, before leading Ibiki away from the restaurant.

Inside

Sayomi had a little eating contest with Naruto and Chouji, but miserably lost. Naruto was first and Chouji ended up second place.

"Sayomi-chan, isn't your birthday coming up soon?" Sakura suddenly asked. "Just a few weeks away, right?"

Sayomi nodded. "I wish it would be more peaceful, but I suppose I'll just have to deal with it." she said.

"When this whole war is over, we'll celebrate it with a big party!" Naruto exclaimed with a wide grin on his face.

"That's not necessary, Naruto." Sayomi said.

"Yes, it is!" Tenten said. "When was the last time you celebrated your birthday properly?"

"Tenten's right!" Lee exclaimed. "Big parties are youthful!"

After a long dinner, they all went home. Since Shikamaru and Sayomi had to walk in the same direction, they walked together. "Sayomi, there's something I want to tell you." Shikamaru said.

Sayomi nodded. "What is it?" she asked.

"I... I..." Shikamaru started. Confessing to her had seemed much easier in his head.

"Can you feel the love tonight?" they suddenly heard a voice. The voice belonged to none other than Aki, Keiichi's summon.

"Aki, you're too early!" Keiichi hissed, making sure Shikamaru and Sayomi couldn't hear him.

Sayomi's face turned bright red as she recalled Asuma's words. You and Shikamaru would make a great couple.

She looked at Shikamaru and noticed he was blushing a bit as well. "Can you feel the love tonight?" Aki continued singing.

"Shikamaru, what did you want to say?" Sayomi asked.

"I..."

"Kiss her!" another voice blended in, belonging to Akira, who was summoned there by Aki.

Sayomi's face got even redder, for as far that was possible. Shikamaru hesitated at first, but he kissed her on the lips, expressing how he felt about her.

When his lips left hers, Sayomi was speechless. Well, what was there to say after someone kissed you? Not to mention she did feel something for him. "I love you, Sayomi." he told her.

"I... I love you too." Sayomi replied softly.

"Keiichi-chan, our work here is done, right?" Aki asked Keiichi softly, to which Keiichi nodded. Aki and Akira poofed back to where they came from and Keiichi soon went home as well.

*the next morning*

When Sayomi woke up, not from nightmares this time, she got downstairs and noticed Ibiki wasn't home. Maybe he's busy? she thought.

She made breakfast for herself and left to go training with Kuro and Kiyoshi. "Sayomi-chan!" Kiyoshi said as soon as he saw her. "Where were you last night?!"

"I was having dinner with my friends." she said. "Let's train."

Kuro nodded and stood in a fighting stance, ready to spar with the Tsukino. "I'll get to fight the winner!" Kiyoshi exclaimed.
