Different Worlds pt II (sequel to Different Worlds) {ON HOLD}

It has begun

Sayomi's pov

Today was the day we were going to assemble in the land of lightning. Naruto was sent away to learn how to control his bijuu with Killer B, who was the Hachibi Jinchuuriki.

I packed everything I would need, as many weapons as possible including shuriken, paper bombs and two katanas.

I met up with Shikamaru outside and we walked towards the gate together.

*timeskip no jutsu*

I was put in the third division, led by Kakashi, along with Sakura, Lee and Gai. I knew Keiichi was put in the ambush squad, along with Sai and Kankuro.

"Hey, aren't you from the Tsukino clan?" someone from Kiri asked.

I nodded. "Why?"

"You're a traitor to Kiri then!" the Kiri nin said.

"You can't blame me for what my ancestors has done, nor can I blame you for what Kiri nin used to believe when my ancestors left Kiri." I stated calmly.

"Why did they leave then?"

"Because they were threatened for possessing a Kekkei Genkai." I told him. "Now, shouldn't we just stop arguing and start worrying about this war?"

He nodded. "Thanks for explaining." he said.

Around me, I heard more people arguing, saying things about fights from the past. They all stopped when Gaara gave a speach about how he was feared by his village before he met Naruto at the Chunin exams and how he changed because of him. He also said this war was to protect him.

*timeskip no jutsu*

We were ambushed by a group of nin while we were heading to our position. But the thing was, these weren't ordinary shinobi, they were shinobi who had died and somehow were brought back to life to fight us. Whose twisted plan is this? I wondered. Who was behind this technique? For as far as I knew, only Orochimaru knew how to use a technique like this, could it be that Kabuto... 

"Sayomi! Watch out!" I suddenly heard Sakura yell. I turned and was nearly hit by someone's blade. I was able to dodge it just in time before I took a look at my attacker. My eyes widened when I saw it was Sayumi, her Sharingan activated while fighting. 

I recalled Fuji's words when she taught me that genjutsu technique that has been past down from my ancestors. This technique allows you to pull people out of someone's control, but it uses up a lot of chakra, so it's something you only can do at the beginning of a fight, when you've got enough chakra left. The only downfall is that you won't be able to fight much longer and need to rely on your comrades to protect you from the enemy. "I'm sorry, Sayomi, I can't control myself." Sayumi said. "Kabuto is making me attack you."

It was a gamble what might cost me my life, but it was a risk I was willing to take if Sayumi wouldn't be in Kabuto's control anymore. Of course, it could be she was still loyal to the Akatsuki and would attack my comrades, but my intuition said that wasn't the case. I took a deep breath and made the necessary handsigns. I focussed and just before Sayumi could attack me with a fireball, I casted the jutsu. Afterwards, I was exhausted and I knew I wouldn't last long without protection, even though I hated to admit it. And the worst thing was, I didn't even know if the technique had worked or not.

I noticed multiple people had entered the battlefield, more of the dead shinobi, the Swordsmen of the Mist to be precise. One of them was attacking me from behind, but I wouldn't be fast enough to get away on time. I couldn't use Shadow Clones either, I didn't have enough chakra left to do that. 

Third person pov

Keiichi was fighting against Sasori, Deidara and Shin. They were tough and had the advantage of unlimited chakra and the fact that they couldn't die was troublesome as well. Most of the time, he was avoiding gaining damage from Deidara's bombs or getting hit by Sasori's puppets. While blocking all of Sasori's attempts to hit him with his poisoned needles, he tried to get closer to him to temporary paralyze him, giving him time to seal him away.

Unfortunately for him, Deidara was attacking him as well, making it harder for him to get closer. Even him and Kankuro together had trouble with him. Suddenly, smoke covered the entire area and he felt metal against his skin. He fell back and examined his wounds. Several needles had hit him and he had difficulty moving. He tried to stand up and fight. He wasn't going to let getting poisoned stop him from helping out the rest of his division.

With Sayomi

Sayumi's original plan was to go and look for Kabuto to stop him, but when she saw Sayomi was unable to defend herself against one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, she decided her priority was to make sure she was safe until others would be able to help her. She jumped right in between and blocked his attack. Now that she was free to do whatever she wanted, she found Sayomi's safety her priority. 

"I'm not letting you hurt my sister." she stated. "You asshole."

The two started fighting, surprising the rest of the third division. They weren't expecting two of the Edo Tensei shinobi to fight each other. "What's going on?! How is it possible they are fighting each other?!" Lee asked.

"I don't know, we should be grateful, though." Kakashi said while he was fighting Zabuza. "You should go and help Sayomi out, she doesn't seem to be in any condition to fight."

Lee nodded and went to Sayomi immediately. "Sayomi-san, are you allright?" he asked. 

Sayomi nodded. "I'm still recovering from using so much chakra for that one technique, but at least we've got one comrade more and the Akatsuki one less."

"How do you know for sure?" Lee asked, he was worried that Sayumi wouldn't be on their side at all and would attack them. 

"My intuition. It's a huge gamble, but right now, taking risks like this is less foolish than taking no risks at all." Sayomi replied.

Suddenly, the Swordsmen fell back for some reason, but Sayumi didn't go with them. Everyone stared at her, but she didn't do anything but walking towards Kakashi. "Look after Sayomi for me. Otherwise, I'll give you hell in the afterlife." she said before she left, trying to find Itachi and Nagato. After that, she was planning on finding Kabuto and make him release the technique.
