Unknown POV

Insanity is a funny thing, some people think it's scary or even threatening. But I think it has a kind of beauty, a beauty where nothing matters anymore. It hasn't always been this way but I stopped fighting my inner demons a long time ago, were on the same side now.

What they did to the world can't be forgiven, it was inexcusable and left us with this. But if I'm going to die, they're coming with me.

I can feel death's presence in the air, a suffocating tension that drains all emotion other than hatred from your soul. It creeps up your fingertips and slowly takes over you, until one day, your gone. You no longer walk on the planet, feeling the grass between your toes and the sunshine on your shoulders.

Mind you that world was incinerated long ago, destroyed by the virus and leaving us in a living hell. The grass is now black as dried blood crisps it underfoot and it is no longer the sun's heat you feel on your shoulders, but the scorch of fire that looms above us.

I've been watching them for so long, thinking they've gone unnoticed, but I'm always here. Watching from a far distance but always close enough. Close enough to suffocate, drain and tear them apart at the right time. And so I'll just sit here waiting, in the darkness of the shadows, because that's the beauty of insanity
