Á/N: Please read while listening to "Hourglass" of Sleeping At Last.
Luis never changed as the weeks passed. She smiled, teased Haru as usual and even befriended Lianna, but Siddartha knew that something inside Luis changed. Sid observed her from afar not wanting to alarm Luis that she sensed something deep, rather she wanted to confirm first and think of what to say to her distressed friend. Sid wasn't sure if Luis loved Haru nor if she thought of Haru as anything remotely romantic. She never gave away any hints about her feelings, all Sid knew was that Haruki was important to her, and that she was willing to smile brightly to him even if sometimes Haru tends to be with Lia more than them. She perhaps missed him, after all they've always been together, sharing lunch, having sleepover and shits like that. She thought. It wouldn't be a stretch to call them best friends; Haru could almost tell everything to Luis and she will willingly listen even if sometimes it's just plain bicker. They're bonds are hard to describe but it was undoubtedly precious.
"Hey Lu." Sid called her.
"Hmm?" She replied absentmindedly as she arrange the paints on the stock room.
"Can we talk?"
Luis stopped moving. "Shit. Did I do something wrong?"
Siddartha's forehead knit. "Huh? Why would 'ya think that?"
"My grandmother used that phrase whenever she wanted to scold me."
"Huh? No!" She laughed at her absurdity. Sometimes Luis is a natural airhead.
"Then don't use that. Jeeze. I remember all I did wrong in my entire life."
"Stop being so ridiculous, let's eat I'll treat you, where do you wanna eat?"
She immediately replied. "Cafeteria. Come on, I'm starving."
Siddartha never liked the smell in this skimpy place. It's full of pastry with the occasional smell of grilled beef. It reminds her of burger king's whooper drenched in strawberry syrup. It's nauseating.
"How did you even manage to eat here with Haru? It smells disgusting."
"When you got a hang of it, it's not really that bad, and besides the food's not half bad."
Sid flipped the menu. "Goodness, what do I want?" She asked her self with disgusted face.
Luis needed to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing. Sid looked like she smelled poop near her face and picking what kind of majestic turd to eat.
"Em... I'd like some, Dark ale, make it goddamn cold." Sid said hesitantly.
"SID! It's afternoon for god's sakes!" Luis laughed uncontrollably.
"What? It's the only thing edible here. No offense." She said to the waiter waiting for their orders. The waiter smiled. "None taken Miss."
"I'd like some earl gray tea with lemon cakes. Thanks Tom"
The waiter smiled. "I'll add some dignity with it." Then he left.
"Dignity?"
"Inside joke. Anyway what did you wanna talk about?"
Sid pushed her chair back and crossed her legs while she hanged her elbow on the top of her chair. If Luke were here he'd liked her even more. Luis thought while smiling.
"Waddya think of Lia?"
Luis was startled by her frankness. But then again Sid was always frank to begin with.
