Chapter Seven // {jordan's pov}

Rick pulled away from me and started to walk down the hallway. I almost started yelling at him angrily for leaving me after that...
He turned around to face me, still walking backwards with a grin on his face. His cheeks were tinted pink.
"I'll meet up with you before dinner!" he yelled out. I smiled back at him, nodding.
I watched him disappear behind the corner.

I stood in the yard with Glenn and Daryl. We were setting up for our so-called training. I wasn't excited at all for this. In fact, I was dreading it.
"Right, so you have about 8 people joining for the first session and possibly 11 tomorrow," Glenn informed us. I nodded while Daryl grunted in reply. I rolled my eyes at his attitude.
"You remember what I told you to teach?" Glenn asked for the fifth time in the past hour.
"We know what to do Glenn," I huffed. He smiled nervously before turning around and telling people to line up in front of a target. It was two to a target.
"Ye take 'em over there, I'll take these," Daryl told me as he walked over to the four he was teaching. I nodded even though he couldn't see me. I turned to see Macey and three other people.
"Hey, I'm Jordan! What are your names?" I asked in a sweeter tone than usual. I didn't want to scare them, I wanted them to feel comfortable. Plus, I was in a somewhat good mood from earlier.
"Macey."
"Jace."
"Tamara-Jane-Lee." I sighed knowing that she had a long name that I had to remember. What kind of parents name their children with such stupid names?
"John." At least his was simple.
"Alright, now that that is out of the way, pick up the two knives on the floor by your marker. We're going to be learning how to throw a knife correctly," I informed, "any of youse thrown one before?"
Jace nodded before speaking, "I have, Dad taught me, back in the day." Jace had faded green hair and blue eyes. His brown roots were awful. Not much he could do about that. He appeared to be in his early twenties. He had a baby-like face.
"That is a good start, you want to go first and show how it's done then?" He nodded before getting into the correct stance and pulling back his arm. His quickly threw it. I noticed that he had a fast arm and knife throwing was going to be easier for him. The knife hit straight in the target's head.
"You're really good!" I praised, "John, you try."
John spread his legs, trying to copy Jace's stance. He had a good relaxed stance. He pulled back his arm but not far enough.
"Extend your arm back a little more, John," I told him. He quickly did as I said and threw the knife. He had a fast arm too. The knife landed straight in the dummy's throat.
"That's a great start, you have a fast arm too, it'll be easier for you," I told him. He nodded before retrieving the knives.
"Okay girls, your turns." They both took stance side by side. Macey looked awkward as hell, so I told her to relax and get into the right mind. Tamara-Jane-Lee looked alright. They both pulled their arms back and threw. Tamara-Jane-Lee had horrible aim but pretty good technique, she hit the target's leg. Macey on the other hand, missed the target completely. This definitely wasn't going to be her thing. She'd be more suited to Daryl's bow & arrow training.

After an hour of teaching we released them to Dinner. I sat on one of the logs near the targets. Daryl made the dummies out of wood, they were good. Speaking of the devil, he came over and sat down.
"How'd it go?" I asked, expecting a grunt or simply no reply
"Alrigh', aim was good, jus' technique needed workin' on," he replied like he used to. I smiled with relief.
"Daryl.." I paused before carrying on, "can you please tell me why you were and probably still are mad at Rick?" I asked gently and calmly. Daryl sighed.
"He still wears his weddin' ring..." I sat there with confusion. How did I never notice?. I knew he used to be married and had two kids. Now that I thought of it, Judith looks nothing like Rick... Nothing resembles him at all. Kids generally have a bit of both mother and father. Carl looks like Rick but Judith does not. I knew that Rick and his wife used to argue a lot and almost got a divorce. But he still wears his wedding band..?
I looked up at Daryl. Concern was written all over his face.
"Judi-.." he cut me off, already knowing what I was about to point out.
"Rick ain't the dad. Lori, Rick's wife, had an affair with Rick's best friend when this all went down. Rick then showed up and they ended. Lori and Rick became practically strangers," Daryl replied, "I didn't wanna ruin thangs between ye but I thought ye should know." I nodded with understanding.
"I don't know what to think anymore," I told him quietly. I heard Daryl grunt.
"Go ta bed, I'll tell Rick 'n' that, that ye didn't feel well, so ye went ta sleep," he told me before standing up. I nodded.
"Thank you for telling me, Daryl," I looked up at him to see him giving me a full smile before walking off to the prison. He rarely smiled.
I later followed.
