Chapter 10 // {jordan's pov}

It was about 7am in the morning and Rick was surprisingly still asleep. I was lying down next to him, tracing circles on his hand, that was draped over me. Judith was sitting in her crib playing with a doll.

For once, she was not giggling.

I heard a yawn from beside me. He moved his arm off of me and rubbed his eyes. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light.

"The beast has awoken," I announced to Judith. Although, she payed no attention to anything that I was saying. She was talking baby talk.

"Who are you calling beast?" Rick smirked. He was talking in his gorgeous morning voice. I could've melted right then and there.

"Obviously Judy," I said sarcastically.

"Thought so," he said with a chuckle. I playfully shoved him as he tried to sit up.

He looked up at me frowning.

"That wasn't nice," he grumbled.

"Who said that I was nice?" I said smirking at him.

"Good point."

I sat outside drinking some bland coffee that Beth tried to make for me. I just felt the need to be away from people today. I looked down at my watered down drink. I swirled it around and around, in the cup. It was disgusting but it's not like I could go to Starbucks right now.

"Dad! Dad! Someone quick!" somebody yelled from the guard tower closest to the prison gate. Carl. I dropped my cup onto the floor, ignoring that it just smashed. I sprinted as fast as I could down.

Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Carl were already there, looking at something. I pushed past Carl muttering an excuse me. I wanted to see what or who was there.

A man, no older than 40 stood there. I could recognise his face from anywhere. He had dark brown eyes, almost black. Dark brown hair that was now longer than when I last saw him. He still had his bushy eyebrows and a short stubble.

The man standing before me, disgusted me. I hated him.

"Hey hot stuff, miss me?" he asked smirking. I heard Rick growl.

"Eyes off of her."

"Ah, you let someone claim you! Finally!" Brodie said with a chuckle, glancing at me. I narrowed my eyes at the creep. He just gave me his toothy smiled and looked over at Rick and Daryl. They shared words and before I knew it, the gate opened, allowing him in. I frowned.

If they couldn't tell what he was like, I am done here.

I rolled my eyes and pulled Carl along with me.

"Where's Judy?" I asked the boy. He looked up at me with concern.

"Who is that guy?"

I ignored his question and repeated my question, "where is she?"

Carl frowned at me before replying, "in my cell."

"Go get her, go to the Warden's office with her. Please. Just look after her," I commanded. He looked shocked by what I was saying but he nodded and took off. I turned around to find Daryl. He was leaning against the guard tower wall, already staring at me with concern.

I took three long strides to reach him.

"Where is he?" I growled.

"Rick wen-..." I cut Daryl off.

"No, not him, dumbass, Brodie."

Daryl shrugged, "he went with Rick. I don't like 'im one bit though." I nodded in agreement.

"I ordered Carl and Judith to the Warden's office, you have absolutely no clue what this guy can do," I informed. I quickly turned on my feet, attempting to walk away. A large hand grabbed my wrist. I turned to see Rick's blue eyes. Oh, I get so lost in them..

I shake the thoughts away before thinking, where the hell did he come from? He must've noticed how I was looking at him because he pointed up at the guard tower.

"What did he do to you?"

Those words were the ones that I didn't want to hear from him

Those words were the ones that I didn't want to hear from him.

I built walls surrounding that information in my heart.

I didn't want anyone to know. They wouldn't look at me the same way.

Not him.

Not Carl.

Not Daryl.

Especially, not him.

I couldn't.

I can't.
