-Natalie-There are times when I really hate myself for being so easily paranoid all the time. For instance, I get paranoid if someone doesn't answer my text after four hours that I have last texted him or her. When that happens, I tend to jump into conclusions of something bad such as being kidnapped or getting murdered by someone; I guess this is what I get for watching too many detective movies (not willingly) with my two best friends.
But imagine if that person doesn't text back in 120 hours, or precisely 5 days, and the last text that person sent to you reads, "I'm going somewhere for a few days." Being the paranoid self I am, you already know how I feel, and anxious is a definite understatement. As a result, I've decided to spend the Saturday of spring break babysitting Makenna and watching Dora the Explorer with her in an attempt to make myself feel calm because the whole episode's plot is simple: you find something and wala, you're done!
I unlock my phone screen again for the 190th time and sigh disappointingly when I don't see any new text from a certain person since a few days ago. Several minutes later, the front door opens.
If we are watching a horror movie, I will definitely be screaming for help right now, while Makenna will probably just laugh at my reaction (surprisingly, she finds horror movies to be funny). Makenna and I turn around, and I am instantly relieved to see Seth and Zoe standing there. I'm just about to ask them how they got in when I remember that I have given them spare keys months ago.
Being anxious makes me forgetful, I guess.
"Really, did you have to pick Dora, Nat?" Seth declares in mock disappointment, "could've watched Sponge Bob or Barney; they're better. I say we watch something else, don't you agree Makenna?"
Makenna taps her chin thoughtfully before clapping her hands together in agreement, "We'll see a Barbie movie, Seth!"
I can already sense the panic from Seth when he begins to suggest for another movie using bribery, "B-barbie? N-no, anything but those movies. How about Hercules? I'll buy you pizza."
Grinning, Zoe whispers to me, "Looks like he's still scared of the oh so sweet and innocent Barbie."
When Seth was little, his older sister had forced him to dress like a Barbie doll and taken a picture of him in order to tease him. Thus, he was known as "Barbie Carter" for most of his elementary school days, which led him to fear Barbie.
I nod, remembering that funny day when he had came to my house wearing a pink glitter dress and a blonde long wig.
"I doubt he'll success in convincing Makenna though."
Seth then sends us a pleading look, begging for our aid, and I quickly wave a hand away before ambling to the kitchen, where the drinks are located at, "Alright, alright, we'll call Pizza Hut."

"Are you sure you're not going to prom?" Zoe questions me right after I hang up the phone from ordering pizza.
"No," I place the phone firmly back on the counter and head to the refrigerator, where the Coke cans are situated at, "I don't have a date anyway, so why would I go? Plus, the whole dance thing isn't my thing; I'd much rather stay home and watch something on Netflix."
"We can go together. You, me, and Seth."
Handing her a Coke, I shake my head, "I don't want to be the third wheeler. By the way, when did he ask you out? I don't remember him telling me anything about that."
