Okay, in Meriloft, people often remove a letter (usually only one, but there was one person, F'ther, who was given the name "Feather" with the e and a removed) from their names, at least if they believe in Harm'ny Lightbeard's teachings. For instance, there was Car'l (Carol), M'ggie (Maggie), and Walt'r (Walter).
Who has any ideas what letters were removed from "Ch't"? Usually it's a vowel, too.
