"Jerome! Help me!" Mitch shouted from further into the huge corn maze we were currently in. I smiled sneakily and followed a path to where he was. He didn't notice I was behind him and so I jumped onto his back while screaming 'boo'!

"What the hell!" He yelled, shaking me off him. I laughed until tears came to my eyes.

"Oh my god, Mitch," I giggled, bending over to catch my breath. [is that the only thing ur bending over for jerome ;)))]

"Jerome!" He snapped, embarrassed. "You scared me, biggums."

"Trust me, I know," I mumbled in response.

"Come on, let's get out of this," Mitch said, turning in a circle to examine the dark sky and maze. I nodded despite him probably not being able to see me.

"Mitch, the man who told us the rules told me that there were people throughout the maze waiting to scare us," I said, walking into a random direction through the corn. I swear I heard the other boy whimper. "Aw, Mitch. I'll protect you," I smiled, beckoning him over so he could follow close behind.

"Don't tell anyone else about this," He whined. I laughed, but agreed not to.

We turned a corner and a bloody scarecrow jumped out from what seemed like nowhere. I jumped, but Mitch screamed and clung to my back. I could hear his uneven breathing and suddenly I felt sort of bad for my scared friend.

We kept walking through the maze and every time we ran into someone who jumped out, Mitch clung to me in terror. He started crying a bit after a really bad scare.

"Mitch, biggums," I turned and pulled him into a hug. "It'll be okay! We can make it through," I tried to sooth him.

"I can't," He said, it was muffled by my shirt though.

"Hey Mitch, it'll be okay baby," I whispered into his hair. I pulled away and took his hand in mine. "Let's go, alright?"

"Okay," He mumbled hesitantly.

I led him through the maze until we got out. I could see him visibly relax at the sight of the exit.

"See Mitch? You did it! I'm proud of you," I smiled, letting go of his hand and throwing my arm around his shoulder. He moved a hand around my waist.

"You're right, but only thanks to you," He grinned. Suddenly he looked all shy. I shot him a questioning glance. "Jerome..." He trailed off, looking at the ground. "Can we go to the petting zoo? I saw some girls petting some really cute kittens and I want to see them," He asked innocently.

I grinned and nodded. We began to make our way to the barn that held the small kittens Mitch mentioned. He was so precious and cute.

"Oh my gosh, you two are so adorable together," Some lady gushed as she passed us. I could feel my get all red and I buried my face in Mitch's neck.

Once we got to the barn, we immediately ran to the cats. Mitch picked one up and started cuddling it. I smiled, pulling out my phone and snapping a picture of the adorable sight in front of me.

"Happy Halloween, biggums," He looked up at me with a happy glow in his eyes.

I was in love with him.
