KiseRiko requested by Amatou13

prompt: Serious! Kise x Riko *-* All serious fanfic for a change. Riko tries to warn him about his injury or something (xD) After his match against Aomine in season 1?

It was unsettling, but the game continued on. The Inter-high semifinal game was between Kaijō High and Tōō High, meaning two Generation of Miracles were going head to head at each other. Copycat Kise Ryōta and the ace Aomine Daiki.

Kise did use his copycat ability on Aomine and began to push himself hard, adding more pressure to his leg than anything. It started with a slight pain in his knee that began to slide downward to the center of his leg, affecting his play only slightly. With the ball in his hands and the net in front of him, he had to shoot it, but suddenly a voice came to his head, one that he has talked to before the second half began.

"If you jump one more time, you'll damage your leg for the rest of the game."

The moments of conversation flashed before his eyes.

(yes a flashback in the middle of the game, kinda like in the anime )

The second quarter has ended and halftime has begun. After meeting with his team in the locker room, Kise stepped outside and reached for the door when he bumped into someone.

"Ouch!"

"Oh, sorry I didn't see you- Kurokocchi's coach! Your name was. . . Riko-san right?"

"Yes, and you must be Kise Ryōta." Riko rubbed her head.

"Is the Seirin team watching our game today? Who do you think is gonna win?"

"In all honesty, I believe Tōō is going to win." she crossed her arms.

"Rikocchi!" Kise wined.

"Rikocchi?!"

"What makes you say that?" he asked, suddenly changing his ambience.

Riko looked at him up and down and stopped at his leg, which she analyzed thoroughly. It wasn't going to last much longer.

"It's your leg. You're putting too much pressure on it, it's already inflicting pain and if you continue to do so, you can really injure yourself."

"Rikocchi-"

"-Kise-"

"-I'm the ace of the team, I have to be the one to bring us all to victory. I won't be able to face Aominecchi if we don't win."

"What's more important, victory or your health?"

Kise stood silent then looked at Riko. Her arms were now crossed across her chest and she stood straight, looking at Kise straight in the eye.

"Your teammates would agree with me, Kise-kun."

"You're right, this game means a lot to me. I even asked Kurokocchi on who he thinks is gonna win, and he said he didn't know either."

"But the question is are you going to jump one more time or no?"

"Jump?"

"If you jump one more time, you'll damage your leg for the rest of the game."

Kise was silent for another moment and opened his mouth to speak, but the buzzer went off, symbolizing the start of the third quarter.

"It'll just have to depend on the circumstances Rikocchi, wish me luck
on my game!" he smiled, trotting back to the locker room and onto the court.

Riko disappeared from his mind and now he was back on the court. Imayoshi was approaching and Kise held the ball in his hands. Riko's words echoed loudly in his head, but Kise had his chance now to make it.

He put all the pressure on and jumped, shooting the ball and making it into the net; the Kaijō crowd cheered.

Within the crowd, Riko shook her head in disappointment that Kise didn't listen to her, but was still curious on how he was going to play it off. Kise landed and his leg twitched, resulting in him limping slightly. Kise was determined to win this game, and nothing will stop him, his leg will break if it had to.

But of course, his injury grew worse as he played more. But, in the end, Tōō made it past the semifinals.
