AUTHOR'S NOTE:

HI! I'm glad to see you stumbled on this story. I am rewriting the series. I'm keeping the hold version up, but you should check out the revamped version since that will go passed Red Roses. I'm not going to finish the version of Red Roses that is up now. I'm reworking the series.

White Roses

I will be the bride who holds the purest of roses

in the darkest of wedding dresses.

And I'll remember being a little girl wearing whitest of dresses

and talking to darkest of creatures.

Prologue:

Concerning Faeries

Before I tell you my ungraceful, crazy, slightly unbelievable story of being what some may call, "the human prince",  you must know a thing or two about faeries.

First off, I am not talking about Tinker Bell. Sure, some faeries are smaller than dolls and look pretty, but they have these nasty tempers that may give them reason to disembowel you.

Some people like to refer to faeries as "spirits", but they aren't. These are creatures from another world that I refer to as Fae or Faerie, and heads up, they defy logic. For example, rain here, the plain old human world, is crystal clear while Fae have purple, black, red, or any other type of rain.

In Fae, there are courts-slash-kingdoms that have control over land and other faeries. The two main groups being Seelie and the Unseelie Court; the Seelie Court supposedly likes humans while the Unseelie uses humans as bloody violent entertainment. The courts branch into smaller ones, but that doesn't mean the smaller courts aren't as powerful.

One of the most powerful courts being the Rose Court with its greatness so vast that it became legendary, however, the court disappeared a few hundred years before my story. The legend goes that the Rose Court vanished because the queen was so foul and dark that an ugly witch put a curse the kingdom after an incident that revealed the queen's true colors and that only when the true queen of the court stepped onto the ground would the curse break. The curse consisted of a sleeping beauty scenario.

When the Rose Court fell it created a huge power vacuum that gave birth to a bunch of war that leaked out into the humanworld and caused a whole bunch of issues with other supernatural creatures like werewolves, vampires, and spirits. At the beginning of the story, the courts are on a thin peace agreement.

There are a billion courts in Fae; some small and some big. The two main ones that I know the best will be the Nightmare Court which consists of faeries who specialize in dreams and either devour or use them for spells and their own powers. This court stems out from the Unseelie Court. The Lunae Lux (Moonlight Court) concern themselves with political power and have a strong affinity with the night, but they also have no problem with drawing blood when needed.

Then they're the solitary faeries who belong to no court. Most of the solitary faeries like playing small tricks, but the problem is when the bigger guys like the giants that have moss growing on their backs decide to make appearance. These faeries vary and usually come to the humanworld to cause me and the human race a lot of damn issues like for example, kidnapping human children and replacing them with their own, stealing small human items, and following human artist to be their muse. They can sometimes be harmless like some faeries that love being near children like the Boon who looks more like a very small blue cat with wings and likes to protect children from bad dreams. However, some faeries like Pixies cause trouble  like word play to trick a human into coming into Fae, becoming a lover, taking them and using certain parts of the human to use for a spell...well, let's just say it doesn't always turn out well.

All faeries have a deep, strong connection to nature and because of this connection they cannot take manmade chemicals. So to avoid faeries, wear a lot of iron and consider some old folklore tricks like throwing salt over the right shoulder or turning clothes inside out.

Faeries refer to their powers as glamour. Glamour strength usually depends on the faerie and how old and strong they are. The element which they live in can also affect their glamour like say a mermaid can control water from miles away while a nymph can make a tree a guard or armor for protection. Glamour can help faeries trick humans to not see them or see something completely different.

There's also another world other than Fae that is called "Spiritworld" or what we humans refer to as "the afterlife". No faerie or human has ever been there and the only proof I have of this world is the fact that I have seen "spirits". They usually take on the form of an animal, but are usually five times bigger than the normal animals. They often have the ability to know things about the future and have a deeper knowledge about anything of the three worlds. They usually don't like sharing this sort of information with us humans and faeries.

Now, there's a slight problem in believing that only faeries and spirits are in our world. Yup, I'm talking about vampires or "Immortals" (they prefer this term because it sounds godly), but I hate to tell you, they don't sparkle and they have a very distinctive smell of rotting flesh. Trust me, you don't forget it. They drink blood, hate the sun, hate silver, and decapitating a vampire kills them, but then again, that works for just about everyone.

Vampires and faeries HATE absolutely HATE one another. Vampires feel threatened by the faeries because:

A. they are technically an older species

B. faeries are a bit harder to kill than vampires

C. They fight for control of humans

Of course, vampires usually don't have a lot of friends.

Oh, and another thing, there is such a thing as "sight" for humans. It's usually considered a DNA thing or something like that, but turns out that modern day humans don't have that DNA tick like they did in the middle ages. Those who do usually keep a low profile...

And if they don't then...

Well, you're screwed.

WriterActress: If you hate vampires, don't worry, they don't come up a lot. This novel focuses more on faeries/fairies/folklore. I hope you enjoy this and give me comments. I already finished this novel and will update once a week, probably on mondays. I'll add the first chapter now so you people will get a feel for it since the prologue is so short. If you're a geek like me, you know about the title of the prologue...
