"Better than I know myself" sort of fits the chemistry between Drake and Matty.

That and I love Adam Lambert.

Chapter Eighteen:

Goodbyes

“So, can you talk?” I asked the faerie girl in the cage as she cowered in the corner of a cage. After some much healing from Unicorn boy I walked on my own. We settled in what we thought was the forest of the Lunae Lux court. All three of us collapsed in exhaustion when Unicorn boy silently told us to stop. That had been a few…hours, but its hard to keep track of time in FaerieWorld. “Hey, we’re not the bad guys, really. Cross my heart and hope to die.” I crossed my heart as the faerie girl gave me a confused look that mimicked Drake’s whenever I used a human phase.

“I can make you keep those promises,” She said in this shy, squeaky voice.

I looked at Cooper who shrugged at me, “She’s been like this ever since we started walking.”

“Do you have a name?” The girl’s eyes widened as if no one ever asked her that before. I looked at Cooper, “What have you said to her? She’s really freaked out.”

Cooper rolled his eyes at me before he said, “Okay, let’s think about this for a moment. If someone had just kidnapped me, what would I be doing? Oh, yeah, freaking out possibly.”

“Your sarcasm is not helping,” I told him.

“Daisy, my name is Daisy.” The girl whispered as she looked up at Cooper. “And I’m used to being kidnapped. So what court are you taking me to? Lunae Lux Court?” She stood up in her cage and peered up at us.

“We aren’t taking you to any court.” She gave frowned at me. “All we need is for you to get us home and we’ll set you free. I’ll even let you out of the cage if you promise not to run away.” I tapped on the door of her golden cage. Her eyes widened like a kid who had been promised a life supply of chocolate. Her body trembled. “Do you promise to stay with us?” She nodded overdramatically, “Because if you leave, you’ll probably end up in the hands of the Lunae Lux court or the Nightmare court.”

“Matty, you sure this is a good idea?” Cooper asked as he leaned down close to the cage to study her. “She might be lying to us.”

“Why would I want to go back to the courts?” Daisy argued in her own defense. My eyes turned to Unicorn boy who stared at her with deep searing eyes. Then he nodded at me as I quietly unlocked the cage with the key that Unicorn boy gave me. When I opened the door she poked her head out cautiously before her small feet touched the ground. She looked up at me and grinned before twirling around.

“Hey, do you think you can get us home with your powers?” Cooper asked.

She nodded. “Yes, all you have to do is wish for it, my master and I shall give it to you. All you have to do is claim to be my master.”

Cooper and I looked at each other before I said, “You’re the one who got her. Not me.”

“I guess it’s me then.” He said, “All I want is to go home in the human world.”
