The West Nottingham academy was made for the families that were semi-wealthy and didn't want their kids to growing up in the City of Baltimore. The main building is in the center that holds all the real important stuff like the lunchroom, gym, and pool along with the nurse's office and principal's office. The two dorm buildings were behind the main one while three buildings dedicated for classrooms went to the front, so parents could find them easily.

The stupid pixie put me in a bad mood and walking in the rain did nothing to help.

“Come on, Matty, what’s wrong?” Zack asked. “Scarface isn’t the worst nickname you’ve got.” Eric punched him in the arm. “What? We both know it’s true.”

“It’s nothing,” I lied. “It’s the rain. It’s making my hair all frizzy.”

“I thought it was giving you a sexy sheen,” Zack said as he threw his arm around me.

“You never did tell us what happened,” Eric asked as he shifted the weight of his backpack onto his other shoulder. “That eye looks nasty. It’s going to be yellow by tomorrow.” I tugged on my gloves and walked a little ahead of them to get away. I couldn’t tell them about my newest nickname, Frankenstein’s Bitch.

“Matty, what happened?” Zack whined as I stopped.

I turned around and repressed a shiver when I saw a pale face that reminded me of a geshia. Only this geshia had three fox tails swinging lazily behind her, large translucent wings sprouting from her shoulder blades, and red eyes, but other than that she looked completely like a geshia. Her bright red kimono flowed like water as she walked toward me. My hand already went for the pocketknife in my back pocket. Her thick black hair pulled up into a strange design that, again, reminded me of a geshia, but the fact that her hands glowed red told me that she was far from a geshia.

“You can’t hurt me, tai zi.” She giggled; I couldn’t catch hint of an accent.

“Hey, what’s-OW!” I pushed Zack out of the way as she walked closer to us and I held knife to my side. Eric bent down to check on Zack as I stood in front of them. I gritted my teeth as she took tiny steps over to me. Her tiny slippers didn’t get stain with mud. Her smile revealed a pair of fangs that reminded me of a fox that used them to tear apart a rabbit.

I smirked as I stepped into the muddy grass.

She jerked head back like she heard something. Her shoulders sagged as a sigh escaped her. “Oh my, today is not the day to play, little tai zi.” She flicked her right wrists before a fire bloomed from beneath her feet and engulfed her.

“Hey!” I yelled as I chased after her, but nothing was left except for the smell of smoke and ash. “Damn,” I hissed.

“What the hell, Matty!”Zack grabbed me by the shoulder and turned me around. Flecks of mud dripped down his fuzzy red hair and mud even got on his glasses. “What was that for?”

“Sorry dude,” I said, stuffing the pocketknife in my back pocket before holding up my hands like an innocent little girl. “I thought I saw something like a wolf in the forest.” I jerked my thumb behind me. “I freaked.”

Zack raised an eye brow and I saw his right shoulder covered in mud.

“There’s nothing in those woods,” Eric said.

Zack smirked and turned around and let me go, apparently forgiving or forgetting me. “I heard there’s a wolf man. A guy real obsessed with wolves and he’d pretend to be one of them. One day though, the guy made one wrong move and a wolf bit his neck and ripped his head off. Supposedly his soul walks around now as a wolf man.”
