Little Broken Girl

(this can apply to BOTH genders, it was just written by a females perspective!!)

See her in the corner, tear-stains down her face;

The hope that once lit up her eyes, is gone without a trace.

She asks: "Does anybody see me? Does anybody care?"

Well I promise you that you are loved,

I promise you I care.

and I promise you you're so much more,

than a little broken girl.

See her in the bathroom,

bent over once again.

Coughing up what she's consumed,

the way it's always been.

She asks "Will anybody love me?

Will anybody care?"

Well I promise you you're pretty enough,

I promise you I care.

I promise you you're pretty enough,

no more insults or hurtful stares.

Well I promise you that you are loved,

I promise you I care.

and I promise you you're so much more,

than a little broken girl.

See her in that dark bedroom,

blade held to her skin.

She's given up any chances of hope,

completely given in.

She asks "Will anybody miss me?

Will anybody care?"

Well I promise you that you'd be missed,

far more than you know.

I promise you I'll be your lifeline,

when you have nowhere to go.

Just please put down the blades and lighters; this time I ask for good.

I promise you that you're not useless,

just not living as you should.

So never feel ugly, useless or fake.

I promise this doesn't define you;

only makes or breaks.

I promise you all the greats out there,

I'll bet they've been there too.

But most of all, I promise you this;

To all the little broken ones:

At one time, I was you.
