You've known me for the longest time,
but you will never know what's behind these shadows I hide.
Behind these tired eyes of mine
is the shadow of a girl whose eyes used to shine with life.
But she is just a shadow.
Behind this fragile body is
the shadow of a girl who used to love herself,
the shadow of a girl who used to see
a woman instead of just numbers on a scale.
But she is just a shadow.
Behind this broken soul is
the shadow of a girl who selflessly
loved with everything she had,
the shadow of a girl who cared strongly
for anyone and everyone she knew and loved.
But she is just a shadow.
There used to be a real girl in here,
who loved herself and everyone else unconditionally.
She never had to hide behind lies and fake smiles
so nobody could see how she really felt.
But she is just a shadow.
