Alices pov

I don't know what is happening to me.

Or why I ran out. Or why I put his life in danger.

I stare up into his eyes.

"I'm so sorry."

Before I could step back he pulls me into a hug. I felt his warmth surround me, shielding me from the cold. Shivers roll down my back as his breath rolls down my neck.

I want to pull away, I want to run.

I want to escape reality.

But I can't.

As if my feet were glued to the sidewalk.

I felt a pain shoot through my stomach as he pulled away.

Cars roll by and people pass us by but it feels as if time has stopped.

"I don't know what's wrong but whatever it is, don't be afraid to tell me. Ok?"

I nod my head.

"Now let's go get that food!"

We walk back across the street and into the diner where our foods waiting at the table we were sitting at.

We sit down and start eating.

"What is your favorite food?" He asks as if nothing had happened at all.

"I like pizza. You?"

"Basically anything taco bell. "

We make it back to the record store and go through the five other genres before the day is over.

"Let me drive you home."

"I'd appreciate it, I really don't want to get lost."

He grins and slips on his coat.

"You ready to go?"

"Yeah."

He walks up to the door and holds it for me.

"Thank you."

"My pleasure."

We walk in the dark to the car, the cool breeze. I look over at Josh and remember what happened earlier today. I wish I hadn't run out, but I felt smothered. Like I had a ton of bricks on my chest. Thinking about it makes me want curl up in a ball and hide.

When we get to the car he opens the door and gives me one of his sweet little smiles.

He closes the door and runs to the drivers side.

"What do you wanna listen to?" He says before starting the car.

I automatically pull out my song book and start flipping through.

"What is that?"

"My song book. I started it the beginning of my freshman year to remember all of the songs that made me feel something. I know, its crazy."

He just stares at me.

Which for one, scares me a little.

"No, that's not crazy at all."

Shew.

"Can I see your book?"

I reluctantly hand him my book.

The only other person to ever see it is Lilly.

Joshes pov

I take the small blue book from her hands and begin to flip through.
