I jumped into the back seat of a blue convertible, one of Jake's numerous cars.

"Good morning ma'am"

My driver, Clark greeted me.

of course I have a driver, Jake's orders.

"Good morning Clark. Please call me Rosa."

I said with a small smile.

"I'm going to see Sam."

He nodded. I caught him smiling through the rear view mirror but shrugged it off.

"You know, it's unprofessional to address your boss's wife by her first name"

I chuckled. "He won't know, unless you tell him."

I heard him mumble 'yeah right'.

I turned my attention to the streets around me. Watching the colourful stores and signs.

CAKE...

An idea popped into my mind.

"Wait, please stop!"

Clarke slowed down and pulled up by the street.

"I'll be right back."

"Don't be too long, I'm not supposed to stop here."

I hopped off and rushed towards the cake shop.

I quickly picked a chocolate cake, shaped in form of a bear. I knew Sam would love it, I paid for it and hurried back to the car.

"I'm sorry."

I said, smiling apologetically at Clark.

"It's alright."

I set the cake down beside me carefully.

"By the way, you look really beautiful today."

I didn't look up as heat crawled up my neck to my cheeks.

"Thanks." I mumbled quietly.

"Is that red on your cheeks?"

I blushed even harder.

Clark laughed at me clearly enjoying my predicament.

"Red suits you." I could still hear the smile in his voice, I didn't say anything else, I just turned back to assessing the activities that caught my attention outside the car.

"So, how was honeymoon?"

I knew what he meant by honeymoon.

I shrugged, still trying to hide my red face from him.

"I'm guessing it was great by that color on your face."

"Will you shut up and drive!?"

I snapped, failing to sound serious.

"Yes ma'am."

He said between laughs.

My embarrassment wasn't because I had sex with my husband. It was because everyone knew, I wonder how.

"Thanks Clark."

I said and stepped down as the car stopped in front of the hospital.

"You welcome baby girl."

He threw a wink in my direction before driving off.

I knew what I had to do when I was done, I just had to call Clarke and let him know.

I walked through the familiar walls of the hospital to Sam's ward.

The most heartwarming sight greeted me as I walked into her room.

Sam and mom were on the bed, Sam was sitting and mom was lying down with her head in Sam's lap while Sam ran a comb through mom's hair over and over.

They were both humming a song happily.

"Hey-hey!!"

I interrupted their moment.

Sam's happy eyes turned to me.

"Rosa!!"

She shrieked, throwing her arms in the air in invitation.

"Aww Sammy bear!"

I placed the cake on the nightstand and walked around the bed to hug her.

"Hey mom!"

I kissed mom's cheek.

"Hi baby girl."

"I missed you."

Sam mused sadly.

I smiled back, taking one of her hands in mine.

"I missed you too butterfly."

She hugged me again.

"... That's why we're having chocolate cake together."

I pulled out and said, Sam's eyes shined with excitement.

"Oh my gosh! I'm hungry."

Sam exclaimed. Mom laughed.

I dumped my purse on Sam's bed and walked around to get us each a piece of cake.

"How's Jake?"

Mom asked, I nearly snickered.

"He's... great."

I answered with a sigh, to sound ecstatic.

"When did you get back?"

I handed her a piece of it on a serviette and then turned to get another piece for Sam.

"Last night."

I pushed my hair away from my eyes.

"How was honeymoon?"
Why is everyone curious about my honeymoon?

I shrugged but kept mouth shut.

"Here you go sweetheart."

I handed it to Sam, she smiled at me.

"Thank you Rosie."

I perched on the seat by the bed.

"Rosa, are you okay?"

Mom asked me, concern etched on her face.

"I'm great, I just missed you guys."

At least there was peace here, I never felt lonely even if no words passed between us three.

"Rosa you're unusually quiet."

Mom pressed.

"He's treating you well, isn't he?"

She asked, her worry lines deepening

"Yes mom, Jake is a great guy."

She nodded then looked between Sam and I.

"How come you guys never told me that my Sammy likes Doctor Eduardo?"

Sam's cheeks burned deep red.

I chuckled.

"What!? He's cute."

Sam said under her breath causing both mom and I to laugh.

"I'll tell him you said that."

I teased.

My family was back and I couldn't be happier.
