Only seven months later...

I was full... really full.
Dr Green said, any minute now...
I was excited, nervous and scared.

I couldn't wait to bring my babies to the world, I was also afraid of the birth process.
Would I be a great parent or a terrible one?
I wouldn't want my boys to be spoiled brats, yet I wanted to pamper them so bad.

I had no worry about what kind of parent Jake would turn out to be.
He'd changed from a total pain in the ass to an attentive, sweet, thoughtful, understanding and loving husband.

He'd painted the boys room himself, bought their toys, picked out most of their clothes and decorated their room. He only asked my opinion on colors and plastic type.

He took pleasure in buying me expensive gifts from jewelries to clothes, shoes, and chocolate treats.
I don't know how but he made his mom stop visiting us, when I asked why, he just told me not to worry about anything because my emotional health was just as important as my physical health.

When I felt those familiar sparks start from my feet and crawl up t my stomach and then to my nipples, I groaned and tugged my legs out of his hand, looking away from his intense stare.

"Thanks Jake."
I almost couldn't recognize my own voice, it was... husky.
I knew how arousing Jake's foot rubs could be but I couldn't resist them, not when there's always a mind blowing orgasmic sex afterwards.

He exhaled, gently lowered my feet to the ground.

"You want me too, don't you?"
When did he get this close!?

I sighed, still not able to look into those Hazel eyes.
His hand cupped the back of my neck.
I shivered.

Despite my rapid weight gain and bulging stomach, Jake never made a sign of disgust at me it was almost impossible to remember that everything is a business transaction he was insatiable, especially after Dr Quinn said active sex life helps expand the cervix.
He only stopped last week when Dr Green told him it was unsafe to have sex when the due date is close.

Just as Jake's lips touched mine, the back door pushed open and there stood a red faced Grace.

"I'm sorry Sir. Someone's here to see ma'am Rose."
She stuttered and disappeared through the back door.

I frowned.
"Are you expecting anyone?"
Jake asked me, his lips still dangerously close to mine. I shook my head.
He groaned and pecked my lips lightly before standing up.

"Come on."
He helped me up.
Like I said earlier, Jake was as sweet as could be.

He led me from the back porch to the sitting room.
Blonde hair... Flynn...

"Flynn."
I breathed excitedly.

Flynn rose and turned around.
"Rosa..."
I left Jake's side and padded around the single seater couch to embrace him.

Jesus! Where was he?
It's been a year and half.
"You better have an explanation as to why I haven't seen you since...never."
I said when I pulled out, tugging him to sit down beside me.

Flynn chuckled the same time  Jake cleared his throat.

"Hello rich boy."
I didn't miss the mockery in Flynn's tone, I turned to scold him but Jake smirked, put on his arrogant coat and offered Flynn a handshake.

I knew why those two were like that with each other but I decided to play dumb.

"I'll get us something to drink."
I said and made to get up but Jake's hand fell on my shoulder.

"No unnecessary movements, I'll do it."
He walked off, leaving no room for arguments.

"You look beautiful."
Flynn returned his full attention to me.

"Thanks."
I said, grateful for the fact that I didn't turn into a tomato.

"I know he's treating you well, I'll forgive him for taking my place in your home."
I smiled softly. Flynn was like the son mom never had, maybe because he liked me, he was always running errands for her especially during those college breaks.

"I was accepted into Yale last year."
My eyes bulged.

"My goodness, I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!"
I wanted to hug him again then I remembered my bulging stomach.
He always wanted to be a neurosurgeon.

"Thanks."
He said quietly, reaching out, he tucked a stray lock of my hair behind my ear. I noticed his gaze never strayed from my face or stomach.

Where the hell was Jake Blackwood?

"You're due this week."
I nodded slowly. That was the same thing Dr Green said.

"Sorry I took so long."
Think about the devil...
Jake returned with a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a can of pineapple juice.

"It's okay."
I said but deep inside I knew he did it purposely.

"There's actually no need for that, I'll be taking my leave now."
Flynn said when Jake made to open to the wine bottle.
He rose.

I frowned and stood up as well.
"Did you come here to peek into my house?"

He sighed and shook his head.
"I'm sorry, I have to be in New Haven
Before tomorrow morning."
He explained... I nodded in understanding.

"I just had to see you before leaving."
He added.
I smiled and took his hand.

"I'll walk you to the door."
Somehow I felt a little pain around my waist and then I had this strong urge to pee.

"Are you alright?"
Flynn asked beside me.
I nodded.

"I just need to hit the bathroom quickly."
I explained.

"You know, despite how far you and rich boy have gone, I still love you."
Flynn said when we reached the front door. he turned around and pulled me into his arms.
I don't know why my heartbeat didn't pick up or why I didn't turn red.

"Take care of yourself Ro. I'll miss you."
He pulled out and pressed a kiss to my head.

"Now go pee before you do it on yourself."
He said.
I chuckled.

"Bye Flynn."
I turned around and went to locate the bathroom.

The air con was on yet I was sweaty. I pushed the covers off my body.

Then I felt it, the small spasm of pain, from my lower abdomen down to my legs.

Oh My God!

Labour!!!

My water broke but I thought I wouldn't have any contractions until tomorrow.

Jake!

He didn't sleep in my bed because he was mad at me for letting Flynn kiss my head.
I know he didn't like Flynn but....
Oh crap!!

I reached for my phone on the night stand as the pain intensified.
Breathe, breathe, breathe...

I encouraged myself.

"Rosalind?"
Jake's gruffy voice came from the other side.
On a normal day I would've given him a sarcastic comeback but all I could muster was "Jake..."

"...water's broken.... Hospital."
I managed to add.

"Crap! I'm coming."
He didn't hang up and I didn't care.
Jesus Christ! relief flushed through me as the pain dulled down.

"Rosalind....are you alright?"
Jake was at my side.

"I think the babies are coming and I need to get to the car before the next contraction."
He nodded, helping me up.

"Come on."
He said and patiently led me out of my room.
