"Dr. Mendes, we got a code blue in room 324" the nurse shouted to me down the hall. 

I quickly rushed towards the room finding a woman about my age passed out with her pulse stopped to a flat line.

"Dr. Mendes, what's you're plan?" my recent intern asked me.

"Uh, give her 50cc of DNR stat!" I shouted handing her a syringe.

They pushed it into the dangling clear bag full of liquids as her pulse began to  pump again making a loud beep in the distance. I sighed in relief as the nurse cleared the room of everyone. The woman laying down jolted up panting heavily and searching the room.

"It's alright, it's alright" I said holding her shoulder.

She caught her breath laying back down and closing her eyes.

"Thank you" she sighed.

"You just got a new heart eh? Adjusting pretty well?" I asked.

"Oh yes, thank you uh-"

"Dr. Mendes" I nodded shaking her hand.

She smiled and shook my hand back. 

"Dr. Mendes, Dr. Elu wants you to watch after Ms. Y/L/N" the nurse rushed in.

"Okay I can do that" I nodded.

She ran out closing the door behind her with no hesistation.

"So the handsome doctor is stuck with me for the night huh?" Ms. Y/L/N chuckled crossing her arms.

"I'd rather be stuck with the pretty patient then cleaning out bed pans" I chuckled back.

She rolled her eyes and smiled.

"You can call me Y/N by the way" she added.

"That's a gorgeous name" I replied.

"Are you flirting with me Dr. Mendes?" she smirked.

"Maybe, maybe not" I replied licking my lips.

She blushed and played with her fingers looking around the room nervously.

"So may I ask what happened?" I huffed leaning forward.

"Oh, my ex-boyfriend literally broke my heart" she chuckled. "He uh threw a box at me and it ruptured the wall of my aorta"

"Some impact" I replied.

She nodded and shrugged adjusting the breathing tube sitting in her nose.

"Seems like an easy fix" I said feeling the tension between us growing stronger.

"What the broken aorta? I think Dr. Tanner fixed that already" she giggled sitting up in her uncomfortable white bed.

I pushed back my white lab coat and leaned towards her closer. 

"No, the broken heart" I replied taking her hand.

I've been watching too much grey's anatomy yo. I might do a nice little series with this one because Shawn as a doctor would make me wanna go to the hospital. I'd throw myself down the stairs to see that boy whoo.
