You woke up to your phone ringing and a splitting headache
You reached over to your night table and got your phone
"Hello?" You answer groggily, not even bothering to check the user I.D.
"Hey (Y/N), Did you just wake up?" It was Bruce
"Yeah" you reply, yawning
"You were supposed to get up an hour ago, Science Con's today remember?" Bruce sighs "Anyway, I'm outside your door, can you let me in?" He adds
You realized that it was in fact, the day you both were supposed to go to the Annual Science Convention. You rub your face in disappointment and look at your clock.
It read 10:30 am in its green, mocking numbers. You and Bruce had agreed to leave at 11:00
"Sorry Brucie..... Just let yourself in with the spare key. I have a splitting headache right now" you say
"Yeah, are you feeling okay?" He asks as you hear him enter your apartment
"Yeah, just let me go ready" you say and bury yourself back under your comforter, feeling like you're in Antarctica because of the cold
Bruce ended the call once he entered your room
"(Y/N), are you really feeling okay?" He asks sitting beside you on your bed
"Other than the feeling that Thor's hammer is pounding my head, I think I'm okay" you reply snuggling into his leg, feeling his warmth
"Your warm, (Y/N). Where's your thermometer?" He asks standing up and going to your desk, your source of warmth leaving you
"I think it's in the first or second one, I don't really know" You reply, sitting up
"Found it" He says cleaning it and holding it to your mouth
Minutes later, it finally beeped and he checked your temperature
"(Y/N), you've got a high fever. I think we should postpone Science Con" He said worriedly
You felt so bad, he was really excited to go this year
"No Bruce, I'm fine. Just let me get ready and we'll be off" You say getting out of bed and standing
Then everything spins and you lose balance
You fall but Bruce catches you
"(Y/N), we don't have to go if you can't do it" Bruce says guiding you back to your bed
"Then go without me, Bruce. You've been looking forward to this since forever ago" You reasoned out
"Not without you, (Y/N). It won't be the same" He replied, helping you lie down
"But Bruce, the last day's today" you say, lying down like he's guiding you to do
"It's fine with me, there's still next year" He says sitting back down beside you again
"But...." He cuts you off by kissing your forehead
"Just rest, I'll be right back" He says standing and heads towards your door.
"Okay"
*2 hours later*
"I'm back" He says entering with 3 paper bags
"What's this?" You ask as he puts it at the foot of your bed
"(favorite fast food), (favorite drink), tissues, medicine, a bunch of sci-fi movies and some elementary experiment kits" He says grinning like a child on Christmas
"If I couldn't bring you to Science Con, I decided to bring Science Con to you" He slowly brings out each of the mentioned items
"Did I mention that you're the best boy- " You got cut off by you sneezing
Bruce hands you a new box of tissues which you smiled gratefully for
"I also scheduled a check-up for you tomorrow. I have a strange feeling that you caught the flu" He sits at the foot of your bed
"Come with me?" You asked him, putting on your puppy eyes
"Of course" He says kissing your forehead "It was my original intention anyway"
He hands you your food and the utensils
"Now eat so you will get well soon" He urges as he gets his own food
After you're both done eating, Bruce laid beside you on your bed, your head on his chest
"I like this better" He says all of a sudden
"What is?" You ask
"Taking care of you" He answers "And Science Con makes me claustrophobic"
You look at him smiling and blushing
"Thanks for taking care of me" You say snuggling into him
"Anything for you, princess" He says smiling
