Chapter 6

"Haha! I knew it! I knew it all.."

###Maria Mathew's P.O.V###

I unlocked the door, removed my coat and hung it on its usual place. Removed my boots to relax and rest for a bit. I was about to go upstairs but my stomach growled, which reminds me,i haven't eaten since yesterday evening. Alright, Let's have something first even though i don't really feel like eating.

I started heading towards the kitchen, then heard some faint sounds coming from around the kitchen area... The closer i got towards the kitchen, the more clear the sounds became... Like someone is in there... Did my mom come out of that room finally ???

The thought of finally having her back put a bounce in my step. I rushed toward the kitchen.

"Mom..." I trailed off, All the excitement and hopes shattered like a smashed glass, when i saw it wasn't my mom. I stood there frozen stuck in a tornado of emotions. I feel so neglected by my mom right now... I feel guilty for even feeling like that, but i am a human after all. I ignored the feeling and concentrated on the person behind my shattered hopes, only to see him doing... Him Again ??? Although his sole object of vision was me.

"Stop It!!!" I said frustrated. He is doing that again, it feels like he is measuring my soul... Testing my levels, examining me through his eyes.

"What? What should i stop?" He said with a knowing look. He is doing that thing with his eyes on purpose i guess or maybe he is talking about why i stopped mid-sentence.

"Everything. Just Stop everything you're doing and leave me alone for once. I have a lot on my head already to worry about why do you want to tell ME about MY dad." I said getting irritated by his presence. What does he want from me ??? Why won't he leave already.

"That's for me decide and you to follow." He replied after taking his eyes off me and on whatever he was doing. He brushed his hands off and continued doing his work. I couldn't see what he was doing since i hadn't moved further from the entrance. Whatever he is doing, he hasn't worn an apron. So i guess he isn't cooking, maybe i can spoil his clothes from some kind of sauce or something, so that he has to leave to change his clothes.... Hmm nice idea. Better ask him what he is doing beforehand. I was about to voice out my question and that's when he spoke up.

"Give me company, i don't plan on eating breakfast all alone. " He said and came across the counter towards me with oh-so-few sandwiches . Either he knows my eating habits too, or he himself is an eating monster. Ahh! That reminds me that he is an unknown person trying to probably have me dead or something even more cruel... What makes him think i am going to trust his sandwiches???

"Maybe the fact that i made them in your kitchen" He whispered in my ear, then from his free hand tugged me towards the hall. I tried pulling my hand out of his hold, but his grip is strong... Leaving me no options as usual. Stupid Mind-Reading-Prick!

He forced me to sit down on the couch, Keeping the plate of sandwiches on the table across. After making himself comfortable, he offered me a sandwich. I just shook my head in response. He rolled his eyes in response  and offered me again, i shook my head again.

"You don't take precautions like keeping the back door shut when you leave the house, but you won't eat the sandwich i made in front of you. How unreasonable is that??" He said with a frown.

"The back door was open ? Are you kidding me??? How did you know it was open huh? And how will i know you're not tricking me into eating that poisonous sandwiches?" I relied with a confident laugh. I know there is no possibility of that door left open,  someone has to open it to leave it open in the first place. What he doesn't know is that we don't even use that door. I grinned, ,maybe he knows somethings or even many things about me but he doesn't know everything. Like my mom is there in this house in That room... He doesn't have to know that i won't enter it, neither has my mom left the room...yet.
