Mikeyla woke up in the middle of the night hearing screams. She instantly grabbed her baseball bat, which her brother had given to her before she left Beacon Hills, and ran to the sound. The man she had helped was yelling, she barged through the door and looked around but there was no one else there. She then noticed the man squirming around in the bed, he would scream and grunt. She had seen it before, when her brother was possesed by an evil spirit he woud wake up screaming too and would have to be calmed by her and their dad. However, she was almost sure the man in front of her was not being possesed, he was having a really bad nightmare. She left the baseball bat against the wall and ran to the side of the bed

"Wake up!" she said urgently but the man kept squirming. She though about calling his name until she remembered she didn't now it, she cursed in her head "Dude, wake up!" she said again grabbing his wrist and trying to pin them down, but he kept movin "Wake up!" she yelled loudly. Bucky woke up with a gasp and his eyes moved around frantically "Hey, hey. It's ok. You're alright" Bucky stared up at Mikeyla's brown eyes trying to even his breath. Mikeyla then noticed his wrist was rather too cold, she looked at Bucky's left hand and, as he wasn't wearing a shirt, she noticed his whole left arm was made of metal. Bucky followed her gaze and pulled away from her sitting up "That was one hell of a nightmare" she commented

"More like a memory" Bucky mumbled putting his head in his hands, Mikeyla slowly sat down next to Bucky

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked

"Not really" Bucky replied not sparing her a glance. Mikeyla licked her lips nervously

"You know, my brother used to scream in his sleep too, calling his name helped wake him up but I realized I don't know your name" she said softly. Bucky thought quietly, he didn't find any reason to not tell her his name, or maybe he wasn't thinking clearly for the lack of sleep, eitherway, he answered

"I think my name is James" he said

"You think?"

"I... I don't remember much. I lost my memory, but I think my name is James... He called be 'Bucky', though, that must be my nickname" Bucky explained looking at the floor

"Oh... how did you lose your memory?" Mikeyla asked curiously but trying not to pry

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you" he said, Mikeyla scoffed. The sound caused confussion on Bucky and made him turn to see her

"Trust me, I've seen and heard plenty of crazy things, nothing you can tell me will seem unbelievable" Mikeyla said with a little smirk, Bucky studied her face noticing she wasn't joking

"They bainwashed me" he said. Mikeyla lost her smile

"Who did?" she asked

"Hydra" Bucky answered. Mikeyla froze, she knew about what had happened in DC but she didn't really pay much attention to it "They also gave me this" he said looking at his left hand. Mikeyla followed his gaze and slowly nodded. She wasn't sure what to say

"You said he called you 'Bucky', who is 'he'?" she asked

"The man I was sent to kill. He is blonde, I think his name is Steve" Bucky answered again looking at the floor

"Captain America" Mikeyla said "That means you're the Winter Soldier" she quickly put two and two together. Bucky reclutantly nodded with a clenched jaw

"Hydra has used me for years to kill for them" Bucky said "I don't want to be that man again, I don't want to be... cold-hearted and... almost a mercenary, I... I wasn't like that. I was a good man, I was in the army but they... they changed me" Mikeyla didn't know what to say, the best she could think of was put her hand in his shoulder, Bucky tensed slightly but relaxed after a while "I hate them" he said

"I bet you do. I hate them too for what they did to you" she said. Bucky didn't reply "Why haven't you looked for Captain America? As far as I know, you are best friends"

"I tried to kill him. How am I supposed to see him in the face after that? Besides, I wanted to know who I really was before facing anyone" Bucky said "I've read some stuff and seen pictures but... I don't think I'll be back to that man anymore, the memory of him is too distant"

"Well, you can't try to get your life back while being a fugitive" Mikeyla said "I'll help you. I'll help you come back into society. We'll take baby steps and, when you're ready, I'll help you find your friend"

"You don't have to do that, you've already done so much for me. I can't ask you for more"

"You're not asking, I'm offering my help, and it's not polite to deny help" Mikeyla said with a smirk

"Why?" Bucky asked confussed

"I guess I just can't live without saving people, and you, my friend, need saving, even if you don't want to accept it"

"Do you usually save strangers?"

"You'd be surprised" Mikeyla said with a smirk "My friends and I used to do it all the time. I moved out of town but they are still running around saving lifes. Guess it's a habit" Bucky stared at her, she spent her time saving others, even people she didn't even know, while he was a murderer, and assasin doing the dirty job for others. They were complete opposites in Bucky's mind

"Your life sounds interesting" Bucky said after a while

"It was. But that's a story for another time. You should go back to sleep. Will you be alright?" she asked softly. Bucky nodded "Great, you can just go into my room if you need me" she stood up and walked to the door, grabbing the baseball bat that Bucky had just noticed "Oh" she exclained turning around to face him "My name is Mikeyla, by the way" Bucky nodded at her

"Good night, Mickeyla" he said

"Night, Bucky" With that, Mikeyla left leaving Bucky to lay down and stare at the ceiling

Mickeyla, Bucky thought, I am lucky to have ran into you
