Bucky stood in front of the tower. He had information that the avengers were there and he was looking for one in particular. With a deep sigh, she entered the tower

"Good morning, sir. I am JARVIS. How may I help you?" The ceiling talked. Bucky was slightly startled but composed himself

"Uh, are the avengers here?" Bucky asked looking around

"Indeed sir. Who may I say is looking for them?" JARVIS asked

"I'm only looking for Steve -uh, Captain America. I am Bucky" he said

Bucky waited patiently in the lobby. After 10 minutes, the elevator rang and out came Steve himself without his uniform, he rushed out as quick as possible, he slowed down when he saw Bucky

"Buck?" He asked. Bucky didn't move, he was too nervous, part of him wished Micky were next to him "do you remeber me?" Steve asked cautiously

"Your mom's name was Sarah" Bucky said "you used to put newspaper in your shoes" he chuckled. Steve smiled and walked closet. Bucky smiled and walked ahead too. They met in a tight hug and smiled big

"I missed you, jerk" Steve said

"I missed you too, punk" Bucky said

The elevator rang gain and out came Sam and Natasha. Steve and Bucky pulled away and turned to them. Buck's face showing nervousness while Steve smiled

"I told you he was in New York!" Sam beamed

"Are you sure we can trust him?" Natasha asked cautiously

"He is fine, guys" Steve said

"I don't know. We've been looking for months, he suddenly want to show up?" Natasha asked narrowing her eyes at Bucky

"Hydra's still after me" Bucky answered "I don't want to put anyone in danger"

"He talks" Sam said in mock surprise

"Hydra's down" Natasha said, she knew Hydra was not completely down, she was just testing Bucky's knowledge

"Not all of them, different groups are everywhere, whoever gets control on me gets control of Hydra" Bucky said solemnly "I know everything I did. I deserve to be in an electric chair, but that won't solve anything"

"The law begs to differ" Natasha said crossing her arms

"I want to redeem myself" Bucky said "I want to become a hero"

Natasha wanted to scoff, but she saw something else in him, she saw herself all those years back, when Clint was sent to kill her but offered her something better, redemption.

"Bring him up, boys. The team wants to meet him" she said and walked back to the elevator. Sam and Steve shared surprised looks but shrugged

"C'mon, pal" Steve said putting a hand in Bucky's shoulder and leading him to the elevator, his smile brighter than ever

When the elevator doors opened again, Bucky followed Steve and Sam into the lobby

"Capsicle is back, people. Was the visitor the real one or a set up?" Stark asked. He stopped in his tracks when he saw Bucky "it's the real one, apparently" he muttered

"Tony, this is Bucky" Steve introduced them "Buck, this is Tony Stark. Howard's kid" Bucky nodded as a greeting

"He doesn't talk much, does he?" Came another voice from a couch. Clint Barton stood up and went to meet Bucky "Clint Barton. Steve talks about you a lot"

"I heard the Captain's friend is here. Is it true?" A voice boomed. A man with long blonde hair came into sight. He was huge

"Thor, this is Bucky" Steve said. Thor stepped forward and hugged Bucky. Bucky only froze

"It's great to finally meet you" Thor said pulling away. Everyone stared waiting for Bucky's reaction. Bucky smiled and everyone relaxed

"Seargent Barnes" another man woth glasses came and greeted "I'm Dr. Bruce Banner, it's great to meet you"

"Likewise, doctor" Bucky said

"He talks!" Tony beamed

"That's what I said" Sam said and they fist bumped

"I say Bruce should check his head before we trust him" Natasha said

"I'm not that kind of doctor" Bruce said

"I have no problem with that" Bucky said

"Maybe later. Now Cap can show you your room and you can get settled" Tony said "you are staying, right? No offence but you are still kind of a wanted criminal"

"Tony" Steve warned

"It's fine by me. I'll run with whatever is best" Bucky said

"Why weren't you so cooperative before?" Sam whinned

"Sam" Steve scolded. All were shocked when Bucky actually chuckled. Steve smiled at him "I'll show you your room" Steve said and led him away

"Steve looks happy" Bruce said

"He recovered his best friend from the 40's. He's ecstatic" Sam said

"I still think we should keep an eye on him" Natasha said

"Why so untrustworthy?" Tony asked

"He almost killed Steve, Sam and I. He is a trained assasin and you all act like he was some missing teenager" Natasha said

"Of course we don't. JARVIS is already programmed to watch him closely and alert us if he steps out of line" Tony said

"Fury will want to talk to him" Clint said

"Yes. I already texted him" Nat said

"Spies" Tony rolled his eyes before everyone returned to do their normal thing

Steve had led Bucky to a room in the same floor he had his. The whole floor was designed in an old fashioned way. Technology was still around but it looked normal compared to the lobby they were previously in. They had a small kitchen with a small fridge and a cooker and oven. Steve showed him the room he would be staying in. He had a walk in closet, a king sized bed and two night stands. It was way too much for him and Steve knew because he had felt the same way when Tony showed him his room

"Stark doesn't do things small. It's all luxury for him" Steve said

"It's alright" Bucky said walking in. He put his backpack in the bed and started taking out his clothes. Steve watched from the doorframe as he put his things away. He took off his jacket letting his metal arm show. He didn't use to hide iy in Micky's apartment, but when he noticed Steve watching it, he put the jacket on again

"Sorry. You don't have to hide your arm here" Steve said. Bucky nodded and took his jacket off again "Buck, where have you been all this time?" Steve asked

"Running, hiding, learning, rememering" Bucky said "I toured in Brooklyn the other day. Went to the cementery. I left some flowers"

"I had a hunch it had been you" Steve said with a small smile "You don't have to run and hide anymore, Buck. You're safe here" Bucky nodded

"Thanks, Steve" Bucky said

"It's no problem, pal" Steve said putting a hand in Bucky's shoulder "I'm with you 'till the end of the line"

Bucky smiled a thankful smile. It wasn't as carefree as how he smiled in the 40's but it was still familiar to Steve

"I'll leave you to unpack. After that we can... talk a bit?" Steve asked hesitating

"Yeah, sure" Bucky answered

"I'll be outside" Steve said and walked away

"Thanks, Steve" Bucky said as Steve left

Bucky sighed and finished putting away the clothes hebhad taken, he left his notebooks in the backpack. He then sat at the edge od the bed and sighed, he took out his pocket-locket watch and looked at Micky's picture. He already missed her. He let himself lay back in his new bed and stared at the ceiling putting the locket watch right over her heart
