THIRD PERSON POV
Dan was starting to slightly regret telling his grandma he'd look after her house along with her shiba inu whilst she went on holiday to Ibiza.
And of course Phil would come along, those two were practically conjoined at the hip.
The journey itself had taken 4 hours on a train, and then another 30 minutes to trek up the mountain that Dan's grandmas house sat atop.
He had to admit though, despite the fact that he couldn't get any service, the view was beautiful. He also noticed a large river/lake behind the small cottage, it had frozen over completely due to the winter weather, the house itself looked like something from a fairytale.Upon entering the house both men were met by loud barking.
The dog ran straight to Phil, knocking him over.
"Well, I think he likes you."
Dan managed out between his giggles.
Phil just pouted and ruffled the dogs head before reaching out his hand.
Dan couldn't help but give in to the adorable man child sitting on the floor, so he grabbed Phil's hand, only to be pulled forward and land right on top of him.
This time it was Phil's turn to laugh.
"Phiiil, why would you do that? Now my bum hurts, looks like someone won't be getting laid for a while."
Phil stopped giggling, and a smirk found its way into Dan's face.
"That's not fair! It didn't hurt that much!"
Dan just laughed and got up before helping Phil up.
"Oh my god Dan, your grandmas dog is literally a meme."
Dan turned to Phil with a deadpanned expression, and whispered in a serious tone.
"We must fight to the death, one meme shall rule them all."
Phil shook his head fondly and playfully swatted Dan around the head. This earned a proud giggle from the younger one.
"What's it called?"
Phil questioned, picking up the small puppy and laughing quietly as it snuggled into his chest.
"Doge."
Dan said distractedly. Phil turned to his boyfriend with a concerned expression and stared at the side of his head until the other one met his eyes.
"What? My grandma called me up saying she'd adopted a baby shiba and didn't know what to call it. What did you expect me to say? Braddo?"
Phil just blushed and carried on into the bedroom, dropping the subject of Dan's childishness.
-
The two had spent the next few hours familiarising themselves with the house and seeing what food Dan's grandma had left for them. It was now nearing 10 o'clock, so Dan put some dog food into Doge's bowl and crawled into bed with his parter, both turning to face each other.
"I love you."
Dan whispered, not wanting to disturb the quiet atmosphere they had.
