(still in flashback)

Panic.

A simple, five letter word emotion that can drive you crazy.  Incapable of staying still, I paced back and forth in Bellamy's room, wondering where he could've gone.  I could feel the sweat slowly forming on my head as I was relentlessly pulling my hair.  This would be a good time to tell my father that Bellamy is missing, but something held me back.  My father will probably end up calling the police department, causing a huge ruckus.

Maybe Bellamy sneaked out to be with his friends?  Maybe getting a drink with them?

If that's the case, I don't need my dad or everyone in the town to get worked up.  I really do hope that's the case.  To keep myself from panicking any further, I lean on the edge of my brother's open window.  I immediately felt the cooling, fresh breeze.

My eyes couldn't help but take a glimpse of the town from outside.  You can see nearly everything from my brother's window.  The coffee shop, the antique shop, the markets, the different sized buildings.  Everything.  It was then my eyes caught something from afar.

A bundle of towering, dark trees all the way in the distance.  It was the woods that we went to earlier today.  The woods Bellamy was talking about in his dream, at least I thought it was a dream. Could it be true though?  That he could've gone to the woods in the middle of the night?

Perhaps he's sleep walking...but how can one simply escape from the window when asleep?  It doesn't sound right.

Whether he is sleep walking or not, I need to find my brother, and I intend to find him on my own.

It was no trouble escaping through the window.  All I had to do was take the fire escape staircase, which I never expected to use in my lifetime.  However, the journey from my apartment to the woods was what I had most trouble with.  I'm still hyperventilating from the nonstop running it took.

The trees in front of me stood utterly still, it was almost scary.  I could only imagine what I would encounter inside the dark woods, but if this is the only way to find Bellamy, then so be it.   I didn't know what laid in the dark forest, all I knew was that it wasn't going to be a peaceful journey.

The first thing that came to mind as I entered the woods was the frightening idea of a mass murderer.

For the past month, several children have gone missing.  In fact, only boys have disappeared.  It's absolutely strange.  I have had this theory that the children are being taken and killed by some mass murderer. What if their bodies are hidden in the woods?

I don't know why I am thinking about this.  The idea is making me more nervous now.

The woods was quiet.  More silent than I expected.  No sound of hooting owls or any animal for that matter.  This place wasn't even close to what the myths had told the town people, yet no one dared to enter the woods, neither would they speak of it.  Probably because this place is so damn creepy, especially in the middle of the night.  There is no sign of life here.  To make things worse, I can barely see where I'm going because of how dark it is.

My eyes eventually get used to the dark as I continue searching for Bellamy.  I call out his name here and there, but no response.  If Bellamy was here, he should've been able to hear me. Maybe Bellamy isn't in woods and he's somewhere in town doing some shenanigan.

It's pointless to search for him any further.  It won't matter because by the end of the day, he has to leave anyway.

All of a sudden, my ears pick up something.  It was music.  And it's melody...it was so enchanting.  Oh hell no.  Bellamy said this happened to him in his dream.  When he heard the music, he followed it's tune and it led him here.  Now I know what I need to do to find Bellamy.  Simply follow the music.

The trees were densely packed together, leaving just enough space to allow someone to move through.  Every second the music became louder, I ran towards its tune. I had to stop a couple times to tell which direction to go. Pressing my palm against a random tree, I listened once more.

I was definitely close.  My feet pounded the dead leaves on the ground as I was running to the graceful sound that would lead me to Bellamy.

Then, I saw it.  Ten boys dancing around a fire.  They were all wearing this brown, worn out attire.  Some wore masks, some had paint on their face.  Every boy seemed like they were having a blast.  It was like they couldn't have a care in the world.  They were too focused on having fun.

The next thing that caught my eye was a person wearing a cloak.  It was difficult figuring out the person's face because it was covered by the cloak's large hood.  But it was clear that this was the person creating the music, for they held a pipe in their hands.  I couldn't help but think of the name, Pied Piper, as I saw the stranger playing the music, but how was this person able to lure all these boys here?

As I watched the Pied Piper from behind a tree, I finally spotted what I came here for.  Bellamy.  I don't think I've ever seen him look so carefree.  I've never seen him this happy and enthusiastic, ever since our mom perished.  It was as if he didn't need to worry about anything, not even about college.  In addition, I have never seen him dance like that before.  This was weird to me.

Not the fact that I have never seen him dance, but the fact that my brother was celebrating with a bunch of random boys around a fire.  Is this some ritual for boys only?  I have no idea what's going on, but I have a bad feeling about this.

It's peculiar how it's the middle of the night and all these boys are here, when they should know many boys are disappearing in this town.  Bellamy needs to come back home.  No matter how happy he is here, something isn't right.  He seems brainwashed.

Just as I was about to come out from behind the tree, I felt someone grab onto my shoulder, startling me.  When I turned around, the Pied Piper was right before me, it's face still unseen.  Already, my heart was accelerating and my body stayed still as a statue.  I dared not to move, for I was dealing with the person who brought the boys here, including Bellamy and I.  This person could be the cause of the missing children.

"Who are you?  What is all this?" I gulped.

Seconds later, the Pied Piper took off his hood, revealing his appearance.  The Pied Piper, was indeed a boy, maybe around nineteen years of age.

His light brown hair suited him and his brows were finely sculpted. But, the feature I seemed to notice the most out of everything else was his eyes.  His eyes were a glimmering green, a kind of shade that resembled a forest. You could truly get lost into them easily.

Honestly, this boy was beautiful, but it was clear that this boy was certainly up to no good.  I sensed danger.

"I'm Peter Pan." He said in his British accent.  "Glad you could make the show."

A/N:  Remember, this is still a flashback!  I will probably get onto the part where it is actually present day (which is in 1998) in the next chapter
