Bad Things Happen When The Attention Is On You

Skylar's P.O.V

When I woke up the next morning, I was excited. I started getting ready for school. I picked out my outfit, which consisted of dark blue skinny jeans, a white crop top that said REBEL in black letters, a black leather crop jacket, and a pair of black heel boots. I took a shower and everything then put on my wig and made it look wavy. I also put some makeup on, but made sure that it had the natural look, then I put on my outfit.

 I went downstairs and got the keys to the car that Jacob got me yesterday, a red Mustang GT. I got my school stuff and went to the car and got in. While I waited for Jacob, I put on some music. The song that came on was Whole by Coldrain. When Jacob got into the car he kissed my cheek and put his seat belt on. I started the car and sped off to school. 

I turned into the parking lot sharply and parked in my space. I kissed Jacob and got out of the car. Everyone was watching me, but I was already used to the attention so I walked slowly into the school. I heard a couple of wolf whistles, I turned to look at Jacob and saw that he was clenching his fists. I  walked up to him and whispered in his ear, "I don't care about them. I'm yours." He calmed down. When I backed away from him I saw one person who stood out, Ryder. Ryder is my ex boyfriend, something really bad happened and ever since then he's been one of Tiffany's guys. I've been scared of him since we broke up.

I saw him looking me up and down, I shivered in disgust. He must of noticed my discomfort because he smirked and bit his lip. I turned away from him and went into the school quickly. Jacob caught up to me and spun me around. "Sky, I saw how he looked at you and I saw how scared you were. I'm not going to let him near you ever again." He said. I looked into his eyes and saw fear, anger, determination, honesty, and love. Wait. what? love? He can't love me yet, can he? I pushed that thought to the back of my mind. Tears pricked my eyes, I hugged him tightly hiding my face in his chest. He rubbed his hand up and down my back in a soothing way. 

When I calmed down we started walking to class. I felt like somebody was watching me but when I turned around all I saw was the back of somebody walking away. Somebody who had a hoodie with their last name on it. A last name that I recognized, Steele, it was Ryder's last name. I looked away from Ryder's retreating form. Jacob must have noticed me shiver because he asked, "What's wrong?" I looked up at him. "Nothing, I'm just cold." I said, hoping that he would believe me. He looked at me skeptically but seemed to let it go. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and walked into class with me. 

Esmeralda, Jai, and everyone else transferred to my classes. It's dangerous for me to be alone now since everyone knows what I really look like. People might find out that I'm Queen. Tomorrow it's going to be more obvious because I'm not going to wear my wig. When I saw Ciara she looked different. She got her hair cut and she was wearing more revealing clothes. I thought that I saw a new tattoo but I must of imagined it because it looked like it was where our gang symbol is. I looked out of the window when class started. I heard a knock on the door. When the teacher opened the door I decided to see who was there. I was scared when I saw that it was Ryder. 

I listened to the conversation that him and the teacher were having. I heard 'Skylar' and 'office'. I was confused because I knew that I didn't need to go to the office. If I had to go to the office, the principal would have texted me. I know that sounds weird but the principal is my "uncle". Not really but he took up the role as my uncle when my parents died. "Skylar." I heard the teacher saying, "You have to go to the office." I knew that I wasn't needed in the office and by the look on Jacob's face, he knew it as well. So I said to the teacher, "I'm not needed in the office. I'd rather stay hear and pay attention to the lesson." 

She sighed and said, " Skylar, you have to go to the office." I was honestly scared because I knew for a fact that my uncle would never send Ryder to get me. "Fine." I sighed and walked out of the classroom. Ryder just smirked and put a hand on my back when we got out of the room. As we were walking, I felt his hand going lower until it was on my ass. I froze and stopped walking. "D-Don't touch me." I said shakily. He smirked and said, "Come on babe, I know you like it when I touch you." He came closer to me until I was against the lockers. 

"N-No I don't." I cursed mentally when I stuttered, it made it sound like I was lying but I wasn't. He started kissing my neck and touching my boobs, which made me freeze. It's going to happen again. I bit my lip, trying not to cry. While he was trying to unbuckle his belt with his left hand, he slipped his other hand into my pants. That's when I unfroze and started to push him off. I didn't realize it but I was crying and whimpering. "Shut up, I know you like this babe, just like the last time." 

He said while he tried to take my shirt off. When I did't let him take it off, he slapped me. I fell to the floor, while Ryder climbed on top of me. I noticed Jacob come up behind Ryder and punch him. It knocked him out so Jake had to help get Ryder off of me. He picked me up bridal style and brought me to my uncle's office. My uncle took one look at me and knew what happened and asked, "He did it again, didn't he?" Jacob shook his head, "No, but he almost did." He said quietly.

 "I'm taking her home. You can do something about Steele, he's knocked out in the hallway that nobody uses." Jake said while carrying me out of school. I must have fell asleep bc the next thing I knew, I was being carried into Jacob's room. He laid me down on the bed, kneeling down next to me. He grabbed my head while wiping my tears with his thumbs. He looked heartbroken, it hurt me to see him this way. It seems like he's more upset then I am. 

"You should get some sleep babygirl, you've had a rough day." He said quietly while kissing my forehead. I didn't feel like being alone at the moment so I asked, "Can you stay with me please." He slowly nodded his head and layed next to me, wrapping an arm around me. He pulled me closer to him and put his face in my hair, a couple minutes later his light snoring showed that he was asleep. I sighed, knowing that I probably wouldn't get any sleep. I chose to not think about Ryder and instead I snuggled into Jake to try to get comfortable. I smiled knowing that he was always there for me and he was mine.
