VII - He's Here!

"Uh... Why do we have to see the old man?"

Kakashi sighed. "So you weren't listening?"

I shrugged at him. "Well, I was thinking about my training two days ago."

Aniki raised an eyebrow at me, before he let out a chuckle and ruffled my hair. "Then I'll keep it a surprise. Hurry up, Kaeru, I'm sure you'll be at least interested."

I pouted at him, but nevertheless decided to follow him. After all, Aniki wouldn't harm me, right?

Well, even if he did, I don't think it would hurt much.

Suddenly, I felt a finger flicked onto my forehead.

"Hey!"

Aniki only closed his eyes and smiled at me. "You were dozing off again. I have to wake you up somehow, right?"

Damn him.

"Oi, we're here. What are you thinking about? You almost walked straight into a pole twice."

I only scoffed, and opened the door, walking in.

"Old man! Hello! Good morning!"

He raised an eyebrow and took off his hat, putting it down on the table. Aniki walked in, crossing his arms at me.

"That's not how you greet a Hokage, Kaeru."

I only stuck my tongue out at him, and sat on the old man's desk, looking at my brother. "Now why are we here again?"

He sighed. "Well, Lord Hokage, as you know, Kaeru wants to be a shinobi. I think you should explain it in more details to him."

"Well... We couldn't put him in Academy, he's already at the graduating age, and the graduation exam was over a few weeks ago. You're 12, right, Kaeru?"

"I don't remember~" I sang, giving them a grin. Aniki shook his head disapprovingly, but I guess it's alright.

No One

"Even if we want to put him on a team, there's no one who can be his teammates. Only Shisui Uchiha, but I doubt Fugaku will approve it. Besides, he only knows the practical skill."

Kaeru tilted his head. "Eh...? There's theories, too?"

"Of course."

The boy let out a heavy breath, swinging his legs back and forth, "I can learn that if I have to."

"Any other choices?" Kakashi asked.

"We can put him into special training, Anbus or maybe other specific fields. For example, like strategists, medic nins, or interrogators."

"Either way, even if you want him to start as a genin, I can arrange that. I can make some four-men-team or just create a new squad. Some clans wants to train their own shinobis, but I'm sure I can ask them for some genins. So, what do you think?"

Kakashi looked at Kaeru, frowning at that tiny glint of innocence in his eyes. If he chose the special way, Kaeru would grew up too fast. He had a bad childhood already, and to be truthful Kakashi wants him to enjoy living as a normal kid. However, if he joined a squad, he would definitely get bullied, especially if his teammates were from some powerful clans.

Kaeru finally turned to the older Hatake, raising an eyebrow. The Anbu let out a bitter chuckle, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"I don't know what to say. Your choice, Kaeru."

Kaeru thought about it for a minute, tapping his finger against his chin gently and looking up at the ceiling as he thought.

"Shisui. Isn't he an Uchiha like Obito?" Kaeru asked quietly, glancing at his brother who nodded slightly.
